My kid is awesome because...

I'm quickly becoming one of those parents that irritate me as a teacher. You know, the kind that thinks their kid's the best! I don't think she's the best or perfect, but I do think she's pretty darn cool. I'll share my reasons if you'll share what makes your kid "the best".

-DD has been sleeping through the night since about 4 weeks old. Even with teething, she still sleeps about 12 hours a night!
-She just got her 2nd tooth and is only 5 1/2 months old! (Clearly she's gifted, don't you think?)
-She is so stinking cute! When she smiles, it's so contagious and it just melts my heart.
-Her hair is the longest in her daycare "class" - longer than some of the 1-2 year olds who share the room!
-Seeing her play with rattles and other small toys and hearing her squeal with delight at the TOP of her lungs is sooooo much fun!

Come on, you know you want to brag about your kid(s), too!

OMG, she is absolutely gorgeous...that last pic of you melts my heart!!!

My kid is the best because when we drop her off at preschool, she runs and gives all the kids giant bear hugs (whether they like it or not). She is so empathetic...when I was at the dentist, she kept coming over with a tissue to wipe my bloody mouth!!! And I have never ever seen a kid with a sense of humor like hers....she is so hilarious and knows it....I think I have the next Ellen Degeneres!

I was "crabbing" at DH all morning and then saw a thread about Thanksgiving and thought, "yeah, I have soooo much to be thankful for!"

Congrats on your advanced little princess!!

She's beautiful!

My kids are the best because

. they sleep through the night (have been for almost two months)
. they rarely fuss at nap/bedtime anymore
. they can play on their own without needing me every 5 minutes, giving me time to do what I want/have to do
. they never fuss when we go out
. they have small appetites, saving me money LOL
. DS is a real snuggle bug, always getting on my lap
. they're both very smiley, happy babies

I'm just hoping all this will last, lol.

Ugh here I go CAN'T .......STOP.......

You guys already know every little thing there is to know about E but I think the one thing I would say today is that he's just sooooo FRIENDLY!

He makes eye contact and waves to everyone he meets, he is also empathic like Love's daughter but not in the same way. He's more likely just to walk around the group of kids (pot belly, sway back ...like an old man) and "check in" as if to say "hey, you ok? you have a toy? You need anything?"

When he does this he will stand there until the other child makes eye contact and when they do, he smiles at them. It is just the greatest wish come true to have such a sweet boy!

My kids are awesome, too...

My oldest daughter is such a great person. She tries to do the right thing and is so nice to others. One of her little friends told me that when a kid gets hurt or sad at school, she walks them to the office and stays with them until they are okay. Melted my heart!

My youngest daughter is so confident and strong. She knows what she wants and will not be bullied into something she doesn't want to do. Plus, she is doing so much better with her glasses, and I can't believe how it must have been for her before she could see!

My little boy is the sweetest kid ever. Friendly, too. He is always saying hi to everyone, waving and talking about his day all the while batting his 10 foot long eyelashes at them. I'm really going to have to keep an eye on him!

Ummm, at the risk of posting such a huge post that I shut down the site, I'll just post one (man, that is hard!)

My sons always run around the house announcing "Mommy's AWESOME!" (yes, my DH taught them that)

Okay, one more:
They always both want my lap and say "Snuggle Mommy" and "SHARE Mommy!"

I just love this thread,so I will add to it!!

My oldest daughter--so confident and caring. She seems to be the official greeter at school for the foreign exchange students. She loves to go and befriend them. She stuck with cheer even when the new coach was giving her grief (I just love when adults believe word for word what another child says).

My 2nd daughter--for never letting her learning style get her down. For being an awsome basketball/volleyball player. For always loving me and even at 12 will hold my hand in the mall.

My oldest son--For being a helper. For scoring almost perfect scores on state testing. For working really hard at football to make first string. It was his first year playing tackle football (he is 9).

My second son--For always being happy. He was born FAS and has major delays. For potty training--well most of the time. For always willing to give a hug.

My baby--Of course he is 3. The most smartest 3 year old I know (I will admit I do not know many). He is so far advanced for his age. I was kinda of embarrassed at his preschool orientation when the teacher went on and on about it. But, she is right!
He follows me around all the time and copies me--gotta love it.

I think we always need to be our child's biggest cheerleader!!

My DDs (age 7) are awesome because:

- S made up her own song called "I love my Mommy!" and she sings ALL the time without realizing she's doing it(we have to get her stop while we're eating dinner)
- both want to be with me all the time, to the point where we have to insist they sleep in their own bed
- H constantly tells me I'm "the best mommy she's ever had" (I keep telling DH that she'll understand the irony of that some day)

Oh, gosh...there are so many more things I just LOVE about my babies, it'd bore you to tears to read them all!

Aww. That's pretty cute, Jules.

My little bug:

Started walking last week at 10 months old. He looks a little like a tightrope walker carefully choosing his steps!

Gives us kisses.

Plays with his toys, but every few minutes comes and climbs in my lap for a quick snuggle.

Does a little "happy dance" when I get out the baby carrier. He squeals and flaps his arms and then crawls as fast as he can into my lap. I'm going to be so sad when he gets too big for it!

LOVES to cuddle and be read to. He will also turn the pages of his board books on the coffee table and babble like he's reading.

Is a great eater and will eat almost anything I give him. Except mushrooms.

Is just generally the cutest, sweetest baby boy ever.

Oh my darling girl.....well, she's just fantastic.

She'll be playing away, totally oblivious, and the next thing you know she's hugging and patting my leg.

She seems to learn something new every day and can't wait to share it when I get home.

When someone is asleep she'll shush everyone in the room.

Those are just a few of my most recent reasons.

My kid is awesome because:

She has a big and totally sweet personality that just fills any room she's in.

She is POLITE and says PLEASE and THANK YOU all the time.

She is FEARLESS and at two and half is climbing jungle gyms and sliding down slides that her mommy was still afraid to play on when she was 12. (Then again, mommy is a big wimp.) Last week she was teaching a friend, who's a full year older then she is, how to stand up on the big kid swings.

She's also stronger then her mommy.

She is wonderfully nurturing and emotionally empathic.

She LOVES to sit in my lap and read books

She has a phenomenal memory - last week she remembered a little detail in a book that we hadn't read for close to a year.

She's perceptive, and notices changes in her surroundings that would never occur to me.

She walks around singing all the time.

And so much more. . .

.

That is true. She was going scarily high on that swing! CRAZY high!

I can relate to the doing things I would always have been afraid to do. Isn't it wonderful being moms to active toddlers?
