AMOM's

This is so exciting. We are going to do this. I think we should come up with some way to keep up with our loses like the way polls are done? Is there any one that knows how to do it? If so, look back and put us all on there. Goals should be on there. Ok I will be first, although I want to lose 70 pounds, my goal for Christmas will be 10 pounds. Sounds tough withonly a month and a month full of FOOD at that. I will weigh in on Monday's

I went to zumba and I must say everyone should try it. I loved it. and it KICKED my butt. I't was adorable watching the little size 3 lady in the mirror shaking everything she has to the beat of the music. It was a beautiful protrait of art. Dance is art, and this was kind of a dance, yet aerobics. I was really enjoying this new form of expressing myself. Then it happened. I saw this woman frailing around as if she was in pain. Her face was blood red and shirt had turned from light gray to dark gray from her sweet. She appeared to be having a good time, but bless her heart shouldn't someone tell her that how she was jerking and flinging around was very "un zumba". She had no Cordination at all. Would it have been that hard for SOMEONE to lean over and tell me how rediculous I LOOKED. That's all am asking.

I admire women who can keep a diet around Holidays. I really do!

Best of luck! I wish I had the willpower to join this thread.

DH got a Wii fit for me......my only goals so far are just to use it each night for 30 minutes and lose 5 pounds in 3 weeks. Not too bad if I can manage to stick to it.

slugbugg,
I LOVE my wii fit. You will unlock more work outs as you go. I just hate when I get on that little person on the screen says "that's obese". UGH. Anyway I now have asked for the jillian (from the biggest loser) workout for the wii for Christmas.

I love Zumba too! It is a fantastic cardio workout! If you need something for toning, you should try Pilates.

I think threads like this are SO important. YOU CAN DO IT! You can stick with it and lose whatever you need to!!

I used to do Jazzercise (I guess similar in dance nature to Zumba), anyway, we always tried to avoid the women in the back with no coordination. Luckily, I am not the best, but was in the front as a role model. Yay.

Now if only they would create a 7:30 am class so I can fit it in before work. Ugh

I go to the gym with one of my childhood friends...

We have this routine of treadmill, stomach exercises, legs, arms...

On our first day at the gym, I said "let's try the eliptical! We'll see how long we can last!". We lasted 1 minute, 15 seconds...I got off and almost vomited.

We have since decided that each day we'd increase our time by 15 seconds...We've been doing this for 5 weeks, and are somehow only at a minute 30.

Imagine how ridiculous it must look to the other gym members to see two fools jump on an eliptical 3 times a week only to jump back off after a minute and a half.

Don't be jealous ladies...

I really need to find time to go to the gym. When it was warm out I walked a few times a week, but it's too cold for that now. I have a Sweating to the Oldies 2 tape that I used to do, but it got boring to me.
As you all can see, I am full of excuses as to why I'm not exercising, LOL! I need to get my butt in gear!!!!

OK, quick question on the rules.......If we are using a point system to track our daily food intake, is it ok to post points? Should we tell if we are over or under our target points? Should we refer to it as something else? Also, should we post our current weight and our goals?

OK ladies...We can do this! We will do this!! Let's kiss those fat cells GOOD-BYE!!!!!

OMG, that is hilarious! I don't even know what Zumba is but I was laughing out loud reading this!

Lovemy2boys - Try going backward on the elliptical, now that will work some new muscles! When I actually manage to work out I'll try to do 5 minutes forward and 5 minutes backward, just alternating every couple of minutes. Don't worry though, I'm not a fitness star by any means...just slow it down a little and it doesn't hurt as bad!

Does anyone have back problems? I was doing the couch to 5K and then my back flared up and I got neuropathy in my foot. I'm wondering what kind of exercises I can really (safely) do now?

First weigh in after starting last week is tomorrow...I am getting my AF so I hope I still made some progress!!!

Everyone is doing great!

Hello ladies! I'm so thrilled that you all agreed with my name suggestion. We can do this!!!!

Lovejax, I have back problems too and was told that the best exercise to do is just to walk. Not super fast or up a hill but just casually around the neighborhood or even the mall. I'm out of practice but I used to go for hour long walks and my back never gave me any problems.

I need to lose a significant amount of weight so I will happily do this as long as it takes. I am starting today and will be weighing myself every Monday.

We rock!!
