OT - Curves?

I haven't been exercising at ALL lately, and I feel a bit like a lump. In the summer I was running a couple of times a week - which was really a miracle for me since I'm NOT good at exercizing regularly - but since the weather got cold and it started getting dark so early, it just hasn't happened. I like doing yoga, but I'm having trouble fitting it into my schedule.

Anyone here done Curves? There's one not far from my office, and I'm tempted by the "30 minutes and you're done" promise. Does it work? How many times a week do you go? Is it worth it?

I've known about 5 different people who've used curves...They all said it was pretty good, but none of them have kept with it...but 2 of the 5 saw pretty good results.

Same here. I did it, and about half really enjoyed it. I don't know if it is worth a year dedication, because you sound like me when it gets warn again you would rather run (walk for me)

I did it for about a year, lost some weight and inches. It was fun to get out of the house. I did it three days a week and really felt good about my results. Then we moved. There was not one near my new home. I have gained everything back. One just opened down the street from me so I plan to start again.

I think that it's a great way to get back into exercise!

My mom does Curves. She loves it, but I have to say, my dad calls it Jiggles because it is all older overweight women there. 30 minutes and done does not sound like enough to me. I am of the opinion that you have to work hard to see results. There is no easy way to lose weight!!!

I go to the Y and LOVE IT!! My kids love the playroom and I am able to take classes, run, do weights, whatever! It is totally worth it, IMO!

It's all about the amount of effort you put into it. I joined curves with some friends and half of us went and really pushed ourselves and we saw results. The other half went here and there and didn't really push themselves hard while they were there and they had slower progress.

I did it for four months and then quit. I found it utterly boring to go around and around the same darn circuit for weeks on end. Bless the hearts of the women running it because they try very hard to make it interesting and fun but I was bored to tears.
