What happens to our money?

So there is a very, very, very, very small chance I could be pregnant. Been having some symptoms and took a test. I thought I saw a line, my husband didn't see it. Waiting until morning to test again.

Anyways, we recently started our home study and have already paid $1650 for it. What happens to the money if we stop the home study? Are we just out the money, or will we get some back or will they hold it for us if we decide to do adoption at a later time? We had one meeting at the agency with the social worker, no home visit yet.

You should probably check with your agency/social worker and see what the policy is. Did they give you any paperwork, anything with fine print? Did you sign anything? Hopefully you'll get some money back, but no guarantees.

With our agency - if you've received the service (ie. had the homestudy done) you've spent the money. So it depends where you are at in the process. Check with your agency.

Any update on the pregnancy news? (BTW, I had three negative tests before my last one was finally positive...My doc said sometimes it just takes a little longer for enough of the hormone to develop.)

The one I took this morning looked the same as yesterdays. I think I will wait a few more days before I test again.

Oh, thanks for asking. Got AF on Monday. Oh well, I am excited about the adoption so I am much less upset about this than I would have been last year.

Glad you're okay too. I'm glad you have something so great to look forward to with your adoption. I know that helped me.
