Homestudy expired

Hello everybody,

our homestudy expired in September 08. What do we have to do to renew it? Do we have to go through the whole process and costs again?

Heart

I would think your agency/SW would be able to give you the best answer on that. I personally don't know.

We ran into that, too, and were just able to update it. We didn't have to start from scratch with a whole new homestudy, they just reviewed it and updated certain portions (medical, background check, etc).

We had to just do an update, it did not cost as much as the original home study. The biggest pain was redoing finger prints.

I noticed your ticker, are you wanting to renew to adopt again???

If so its relatively simple, they need things like current proof of income, health or phyical report from doctor and for us a copy of 07 tax papers, also have to come to your house again...

It might depend on how many times your homestudy was updated too. For my agency you have to start over every 3 years.

I think it depends on the state and agency you are using.
We had to redo ours from scratch (minus just a few things -- application fee, education hours, some autobiographical questions).

thanks for all the answers. Suri is now a year old and we would love to have a sibling for her. Of course, we cannot afford an adoption right now, but if my husband reenlists, we could do it again:-))
