A's B-dad sends us a text last week stating that he'd be in our area next Thursday. I text back saying, "Great! Give us a head's up, and we'll arrange to meet so you can see baby A."

Fastforward to today. He sends a text stating he's at the airport (doesn't say ours or his) around 11:00 a.m. We get all prepared anticipating his call. He calls around 4:20 to say that he's here, but is not with the right people (whatever that means) to meet-stating that the job is a quick turn around and would not be able to see baby A.

I know things happen. Luckily, baby A is only 11 wks old, but I cringe to have to think of what it would be like to have to explain the how's and why's of a parent breaking their word or commitment down the road or imagining the hurt/disappoint she'd feel when older.

Right now, looking into this angelic face, I'd like to shield her from all the pain and heartache that this life could bring. But, alas, we'll cross our roads when we get there.

I understand your disappointment and concern! Hopefully this is a one time thing and he may truely have been with "not the right people" during this meeting. He could have been with boss and/or clients and didn't think it would be appropriate to visit in the circumstances...
