his cardiogist looks at the typed medication list and says "aren't you overwhelmed?"
That hadn't occured to me in so long! I just grabbed Cameron's list. It's almost an entire typed page. He gets medicine at different times starting at 6 am and ending at 12 am. Love that 6-hour break! I go through over 30 different syringes a day, giving 11 different medications. Whenever Cameron is hospitalized, we have all of the nurses save his syringes so we can use them at home. We always have a great big bowl of them sitting on our counter, waiting to be washed. He gets heart, GI and respiratory meds. And the thing is, first day home from the hospital (IMO, at least a one-month stay), is always overwhelming, but we have such a great routine now, it truely doesn't overwhelm me. I have SO much to be thankful for. Modern medicine is at the top of my list. I am just finding it funny that this craziness has been my new normal for almost a year! Can you all believe that? It seems like just yesterday he was having his first emergency open heart surgery. He's just come so far.

That's amazing. I hope his first birthday will be a very happy celebration for all of you! Here's hoping his second year (and subsequent years) involve less hospital and more playtime at home.

Happy (almost) Birthday Cameron! I haven't been here as long as everyone else....but it's still so exciting to celebrate a bday! Especially for a kiddie who has been through so much.
I feel you on the meds though....I carry Kaiden's med list in my purse. One time we were at the ER for a fever and the doc couldn't believe I had them all memorized. I draw and administer them everyday!! Haha. I'm glad Cameron is doing so well. How is the mic-key button working for you guys? |
