I got chills as I read your latest post...another poster said it...when a door closes, a window opens.

I am in Cincinnati so PM me if you are near and need to get out!

Good news/Bad news

Hey All! The good news is that the birthmom signed the TPR yesterday. In Ohio TPR is irrevocable when they are signed. The birthmom did not want to see the baby or meet us when he was born. I told the lawyer and SW to tell her we would bring the baby to the agency and let her meet him before she signed. I even suggested she wait in an office and we would be in another office and the SW could bring the baby to her if she wanted some alone time with him. I tried everything I knew how to make him available so she could see him. She didn't go for it. She still says she's not interested in pictures but we will send pics/leyyers to the agency and they will store them. If she ever changes her mind about contact we will be open to it. The bad news is that ICPC in Ohio is taking 4 to 6 weeks instead of the 1 to 2 weeks we were initially told due to state budget cuts. Luckily I have friends/family in the state so we will go there while we wait. DH is going to have to commute a few days each week. It's only 2 hours. Speaking of DH, he is not comfortable with me posting a pic on the forum. If you would like to see the most handsome boy in the universe just send me a pm with your e-mail and I will send it to you.

Congratulations on your baby.

I have read Ohio ICPC and newborns are given first priority. The law/statue said they have 30 days to complete ICPC. I hope it turns out to be true for you.

I don't know where you are staying but I am in Dayton. We have plenty of baby things if you need to borrow.
Or if you need to get out, we could meet up or you could come over. I know how hard ICPC waiting can be
(3weeks in Florida)

Congratulations again, i'm glad the tpr is over for you. can neither you or your hubby leave the state? what are you suppose to do about your job and stuff? does it really take that long to leave with your baby? i guess i just thought that it took maybe a week or so to get things moving and then you could go home. That really stinks!!! are all states like that? i'll have to talk to my social worker about this. my dh doesnt have that many vacation days and i have to be home to get my son to school and take care of him too. Interesting. all the best of luck to you. Rach
