For those of you with older kids
What was your favorite favorite age? Which age would you want to relive as a parent? Why?
I'm fascinated with how there are mothers who just adore babies and others who enjoy parenting the older child more. Anyone? ![]()

I have a 9 year old, who came to us at almost 5, and a biological 2 year old. I really love both their ages right now! My two year old can tell me about his day, how he's feeling, really interact and my daughter is going through the continual mom evolution: I had her convinced I knew everything, then she realized I didn't, and she's starting to realize I may know a few things. Only a few, though!
I'd never want a newborn again! |

7-9 is my favorite! Fairly mature behavior, mostly sweetness and no hormones yet.

My oldest will only be 3 in a couple weeks....but I LOVE the 2-3yo age group. Always have! They are so fun and they say the funniest things.
I'm not much of an infant person. DD is just starting to get fun at 5-6 months, but I still can't wait until she is 2-3yrs. Sorry honey~![]()

My kids are now 5 yrs, and almost 7 yrs. I find myself enjoying them a lot more than when they were, say, 3 or 4 yrs old. They seem to mature quite a bit once they are 5 and you can do so many more things with them, but they are still lovable, and lots of fun. BUT, I also really love infants and toddlers!
I used to work with infants and toddlers (I have a degree in Early Childhood Ed), and also preschool age. I just love infants! So...we are adopting again...I REALLY want another baby! This will probably be the last, unless my DH has a change of heart, so I need to make sure I savor every moment! |

At every age, literally from birth to now 3.5, I keep saying it's the "best" and I want to freeze DD right now!!! I think all ages are wonderful and I look forward to DD getting older, etc. (well, not really!).

My guys are almost 5 and 7, and I have to say that I absolutely love their ages...so between 4 and 7 have been amazing.
I find them fun, a tad more independent, hilarious, and pretty darn smart! |

Well, I seem to have the oldest and the biggest spread in age here so far! My boys are 18 and 14 and Castle is 4 and I can honestly say that I love ALL stages! I love the newborn/infant rocking and getting up at night (I know, I know), I love the toddler learning stage and the preschool stage, were Castle is now but I truly have enjoyed my boys during school and even now when my oldest is graduated and in college. I don't think I could pick a favorite age.......

My oldest is only 2, but I can say without a doubt birth-3 months is my absolute favorite! Quite frankly, I am hating every minute of the 2's. Can anyone tell me what happened to my sweet little boy and who is this little terror living in my home?
They are just so sweet and innocent when little. I can fulfill every need. I just love it!

Ours are 18 and 2! On the 18 year old's birthday last month one of his friends had written, "I can legally by porn!" in his back window. Yes, every parents dream to see that going down the street! Teenagers are a trip. I too always think that whatever age TJ is, is the best. But looking back on the first few months, I don't want to do that again! I'm digging the twos. Everyday there is something new but that is just because he is a genius

My 11 y.o. preteen boy is driving me right up the wall...he sasses me and has an attitude when it comes to chores. But he is a great help with Joshie; he will even change poopy diapers.
As for Joshie's age (15 mos. now)...I like newborns, but I love it when they start to talk. Joshie is starting to say things back to us that are really cute. I also like the stage after they are potty trained; trying so hard to be independent. Blessings, Michelle

Mine are 2 1/2 years, 17 months, and 13 months so I don't have too much to go on yet. But so far it just keeps getting better. Although there are definitely moments with my daughter that really stretch my parenting muscles.

Wow, yours are spread more than mine!
Mine are 19 and 7. But 7-9 was the most maturity with the least amount of difficulty. aaahhhh. His brain got sucked out at 11. 13 was a nightmare. 16 was HARD. With Big J past it and Little J not there yet, I joke that I'm on parenting recess at the moment. All the fun with not much "work"...Wheeee!

My kids are 10, 7, and 16 months. I personally enjoy the newborn stage...even with the lack of sleep I love that they are this little ball curled up on your chest! I love how they make little noises and smell so good. If only my husband would keep letting me have babies...

For some reason, age 3 is just magical for me. I love it. The kids are full of imagination. They talk but aren't too sassy. They have grand ideas and just so loving. At least 10 times a day, Hanna says something so sweet or funny that I just laugh and laugh. She tells me I'm beautiful. She tells me I'm her best friend. She tells me she missed me while at school. She totally and completely believes in Santa. She loves the Man in the Moon and thinks he watches her while she's sleeping. Everything is just so exciting for her right now and I'm loving every minute. M-K was so much fun as a three year old. She was just like Hanna. Now she's ten and it's been tough. Her mouth is driving me nuts. She's gotten very sassy and opinionated over the last year. She informed me the other day that I do NOT know more than her. Talking back has become an issue. But..she's older and we can do a lot of things together. She 'gets' my humor and we can laugh about stuff. She can (on occasion) be the sweetest kid on the planet. She's like Sybil..I never know what I'm gonna get! ![]() "Brandon" is at a sweet age (almost 2) and gives sloppy kisses and asks me to kiss imaginary boo-boos. He also throws himself on the floor for tantrums and kicks his legs. It's actually quite funny to watch. But three is my favorite..

THERE ARE EIGHT DIFFERENT WAYS YOUR CHILD CAN DIE ON A CORDED WINDOW TREATMENT Read "How Safe Cords Kill" at www.pfwbs.org THREE CHILDREN HAVE STRANGLED TO DEATH SINCE ANGEL DIED ON 8/11/09. Brandyn Coppedge died on 9/11/09. Rosie Smith died on 9/30/09 and Thapelo Kwofie died on 11/1/09. The Consumer Product Safety Commission is no longer recommending safety kits. They are now recommending that anywhere children live or visit should be free of corded window products. Last edited by Kat-L : 10-22-2008 at 09:26 AM. |
