Then I will come out of your tummy
So, we are in the process of adopting a sib set of 3 from foster care. We all want to go to Disneyland. And my DH and I decided when we finalize we will take a family trip there. So, we talk about the judge finishing up paperwork so we can be a forever family and go celebrate at Disneyland. My 3 yr old is trying to grasp the concept, as she has been in 6 homes in her short little life, and so then she says to me, "and then I will come out of your tummy". It made me smile, but then I had to do a little more teaching.

first of all, good luck on your upcoming finalization!!! I was reading this book called ''talking to young children about adoption'' and at the age of 3 or so, a lot of kids ''want'' to have grown in their amom's tummy, etc....one even asked if she could crawl in her mom's tummy!!! so I think it's ''normal'' ....

My best friend adopted six children from foster care at different times, and then found herself pregnant.
The children did not understand why she had to go to the hospital to have the baby, all the other babies were brought by the caseworkers!
