Humidifiers
I think we need a new one. Ours is so small it runs out in 6 hours and sleepyhead sleeps at least 11 hours or more. It is very dry in our house in the winter and also E is prone to breathing stuff so we def. need one.
Can anyone recommend a brand that isn't too pricey and has a long run-time? Thanks.

I'm interested in the answer too. Even though we have a whole house humidifier, we like to keep Katie's room a little higher in humidity when she sleeps at night, especially when she's sick. We've gone through a couple of different models of Holmes humidifiers and even though they have a sufficient run time they clogged filters way too quickly. We just bought a cool mist humidifier that's shaped like an elephant's head (don't remember the brand name) and it seems to be doing well but it doesn't put out that much moisture unless you positioned it right next to the bed.

We use the brand Crane 1 Gallon Cool Mist Humidifier during cold time and it is wonderful (cool mist per our ped was best for us).
It lasts all night into the next day and is super quiet. It is the best we have found so far...

We have a Honeywell cool mist humidifier. I just leave it to run all night on low (it can go about 1.5 nights, from 7 pm to 6 am). It was about $50 when we purchased it.

I have two... One is the filterfree Vicks one, the other one is the germ guardian table top humidifier. The vicks is for me, the other one for them... I have to replace the water every other day or so, it's not too bad.
I had another Vicks humidifer before, but it was invisible mist, so it did absolutely nothing for my usual nose congestion. Now the difference is amazing. |
