OT: train tables
Castle is totally into trains and it seems we spend every waking moment at the book store playing with their train table. Soooo, she is getting a train table for Christmas, bought it last weekend. I am sure I'm missing something but how do we keep the track on the table and not all over the house? I would glue it but that seems like it would mess the table up. Is there something special I can buy to do this? I want to get it done before Santa leaves it!

Ummm...you don't...The track goes all over...in the drawers, on the floor, in the couch cushion, in your truck...Then you have to go spend your hard earned cash to buy replacement pieces, or if you're thrifty like yours truly, you just make the track smaller... If you find a way, let me know!!! |

The one my SIL just got my nephew has sides on it to keep the track on the table. Does yours?

Yes, mine has sides but I don't want her taking it off the table and all over the place like lovemy2boys said. I talked to a few people and they used Elmers glue, said it was just enough to stick it down and deter them from trying to take it off but not enough to ruin the table. I do need to make sure our track isn't street on one side and track on the other before I decide.

Santa's bringing a train table here, too! I'm trying to figure out how to keep our 21mo OFF the table!!!! Lol. Cuz I know our 4.5yo is going to just flip over it...he's a tad obsessed, too!

Here's an idea along the lines of the glue....double sided carpet tape. Can be found at any home improvement type place. Cut a thin strip running right down the middle of the track piece and it should provide enough resistance to keep them from being pulled up willy nilly.

I had one in our house it took all of 6 months to get rid of it the kids found a new use for it. They made it into a trampoline and I was no more than 3 feet away.
