Cell phone for emom

I'm trying to get a cell phone for the emom that we're matched with. What's the best way to do this? Prepaid?

Thanks!

Do prepaid. If you get a plan and she goes over her minutes you'll have to possibly pay hundreds of dollars to get the phone reactivated.

Definitely go prepaid. Our cell phone provider (AT&T) requires a year contract on phones that aren't prepaid. What if it didn't work out for you guys and you were stuck with a year contract and bills? Eep. Prepaid all the way.

You can get a prepaid but for us that didn't work either. We tried this and she just used up all the minutes we paid for and none of them were on us! It was very frustrating to try and call and there be no minutes so we finally gave up and just talked back and forth through her mother or aunt-ours was a private adoption. Thankfully "E" was very good at calling us and staying in touch.

Try a prepaid that has free nights and weekends, so even if she burns the daytime mins, you will still have the nights and weekends. Also some companys do a flat fee for the month. Metro PCS I think is 35 or 40.00 for the month 24/7 We have altel here and it is free for cell to cell in network, favorite numbers, free nights and weekends and text mess. My friend has another cell company and she pays 99 a month for 24/7. We went with metro with our pbmom because she blows mins and prepaid adds up fast. Also get a cheap phone, are pbmom lost her phone twice!

I was just reading posts, this isn't my usual area to read..BUT, Kajeet phones are great. You can actually determine what numbers are called, set up two accounts, so if she wanted to pay some for her personal calls she could, but you could limit who is called. They have text and/or talk bundles too. Target or Best Buy sell the phones, and cards. Sprint is the carrier so service seems good. My son had one until we put him on our plan.
