We are in contact with a couple who would possibly like us to adopt their unborn child. We and they live in KY. Ky doesn't have great adoption laws. Wanted to see if I could get any support here.

I know one family that tried. Their matched failed, but they really think it was a scam and there was no baby. Probable the scammers weren't even in KY. Just be really, really careful with expenses and make sure to get proof of pregnancy. The couple I know shelled out a lot of $$. Any chance you can get an agency involved, just because of the crazy (or lack there of) adoption laws in KY?

I placed my baby for adoption in Kentucky 17 years ago. The adoptive parents were friends of my grandparents. They hired a lawyer who took care of all the paperwork for us. This was in Logan county which is near Bowling Green. I'm not sure if the lawyer is still in practice but PM me if you would like the info. Good luck with this situation! I will say a prayer and send baby dust your way.

Beth - Thanks for the heads up. We are not willing to pay expenses other than medical and the parents have not asked for anything. I'm so sorry this happened to your firends!


Gwen - Are you still in KY? We are about 4 hours brom Bowling Green and we've talked to several attorneys, but if we don't decide on any of them I will pm you.
