I don't know how this happened....I'm shocked!
Let me back up a few days so you guys can see how bizarre these past 4 days have been!! This is going to be long!!!!
Ok, on Friday I asked if anyone here knew of any agencies/referrers that were free to sign up with. A very nice person responded(THANK YOU!!!) and recommended some places! So, I went to their websites and looked at their available situations. But decided to hold off calling them to see if we would get the girl that our social worker had called us about that same day!! So, come Monday the birthmom with the girl decided on a couple that didn't have children. I was sad but at the same time happy b/c the couple had been waiting a year and we were not even done with our home study. Also, Monday happened to be the day of our second Home study visit. So, our social worker was done around 11:45am and she left. I was still kinda sad about not getting the little girl, so I decided to look up the referral websites that were sent to me. I registered with two of them and made some phone calls and passed on our info. A few hrs later both referral agencies called me back with birthmom that looked like a good match with us. One of them was the situation that I posted about earlier where all the money was do upfront. The other referral agency wanted us to send profiles to two birthmom b/c the birthmom didn't have email. So, I reluctantly did it...and I say reluctant b/c I had not spoken to the agency for very long...and then they were asking me to send my profile. But I did....and it's a good thing I did b/c as soon as I walked out the door the agency called me and said that one of the birthmom(one of the ones I had JUST sent a profile to) was interested in us and wanted to do a conference call! Whoooooooo!!!! So, come 8pm the agency called...we talked a min and then they put the birthmom on.....WOW....we talked for a while and I felt a connection and hoped the birthmom did as well! After about 20 min we finished up and the agency said he would call me back but wanted to talk to the birthmom to see what she thought. WELL, 5 min later he called back and said she wants US!!!  ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!! Does this actually really happen?!?! I still can't believe this is happening!!Is this not the craziest story you've ever heard! We're not even done with our home study!!! Anyway, I just wanted to thank the person...the ONLY person...that PMd me with the referrer agencies!!! You made this happen, sweetie!

9/18/08-10pm, got call about little girl born early that morning! We've been chosen and need to be there to pick up baby from the hospital!!!!! Sept-Started HS; 3 visits: 9/2/08, 9/15/08, 9/18/08 9/15/08-Got a call about a little girl on the 12th. Profile shown. Not chosen. 9/15/08-MATCHED!! 9/17/08-Unmatched do to situation being too difficult... 9/17/08-Profile being shown to birthmom that has given birth!!! Never heard back 9/19/08-Met baby, birthmom, and birthmom's mother!!! 9/20/08-Discharged from hospital with baby!!! 10/2/08-ICPC paperwork submitted....FINALLY! Only a few more days until we can go home!!!  10/7/08-ICPC granted! We're home!!!
 Only 16 days from start of home study to holding our beautiful daughter in our arms! God works miracles!!

How absolutely wonderful!!!!!!!
And you know...this is how it happens for some of us some of the time! When is emom due? Do you know the gender yet? Exciting time. Start a journal so you'll remember all of the details years from now....you'll be glad you did! Sincerely, Linny

August 2005 - approved with 1st agency October 2006 - 1st match (she lost the baby at 7 months) November 2006- 2nd match May 2007 - birthmom chose to parent July 2007 - decided to switch agencies Jan. 2008 - approved with agency #2 July 2008 - placed with our forever kids - sib set of 3 November 2008 - suprise phone call and we added their younger brother March 24, 2009 - finalized adoptions for first 3 June 16, 2009 - finalize adoption for #4

The baby is due in Dec and is biracial! I want to post more details but they are very identifying....So, I will wait until I've done all my paperwork and then give the juicy details!

If the details are identifying, then wait to talk about those details after the finalization...you don't want to do ANYTHING that could jeopardize your match (yeah, it's happened).
