OT: Progesterone therapy

No wonder I'm such a crab...haha...very very very low progesterone.

Now I'm on Xymogen, bioidentical progesterone cream called Progensa 20.

Has anyone ever had progesterone therapy, and if so, did you feel any different mid-cycle?

I almost feel like I'm ovulating out of both ovaries...it's very full feeling in my abdomen like I'm about to start my cycle, but I just had it on the 1st.

I'm not doing this seeking fertility...it's just something that will probably help me tremendously with the mood swings, insomnia, miscarriages, PCOS, fibroids, sugar/carb cravings, etc. I'm experiencing.

Any thoughts and success or unsuccessful stories greatly appreciated from current or past participants in any sort of progesterone therapy.

I just started progesterone therapy but for totally different reasons. I'm only taking it for the 2nd half of my cycle and I ~hate~ it. It's my first cycle on it so I'm hoping I get used to it but right now it's making me insane - crying, crabby, spiteful - if it's a "bad" emotion I'm having it.

It's supposed to help lighten my periods so we'll see if it has that benefit - I'm not sure it will end up being worth it for me though.

Wow - that's a downer, hope your experience is better than mine! I've never done well on hormones though (e.g. birth control pills).

I'm doing the same thing. I'm good during the progesterone taking phase, but a wreck when I go off of it for the first week. Pretty much everything described above. I cried for 24 hours for no reason!

It did lighten my periods, though.
