"Brandon" has eczema and the girls have dry skin. The only "soap" that works for us is pure olive oil soap. Everything else (even products designed for dry skin or eczema) seems to aggravate their skin.

THERE ARE EIGHT DIFFERENT WAYS YOUR CHILD CAN DIE ON A CORDED WINDOW TREATMENT
Read "How Safe Cords Kill" at www.pfwbs.org

THREE CHILDREN HAVE STRANGLED TO DEATH SINCE ANGEL DIED ON 8/11/09.
Brandyn Coppedge died on 9/11/09. Rosie Smith died on 9/30/09 and Thapelo Kwofie died on 11/1/09. The Consumer Product Safety Commission is no longer recommending safety kits. They are now recommending that anywhere children live or visit should be free of corded window products.

I love California Baby but it's almost a dollar and ounce and we're on a money diet. (I love the Tired and Cranky one for me) I am kind of surprised they are still using Lavender in their baby products.

One good thing about Calif Baby is that their shampoo is really thick, so we use about 1/2 as much (and it doesn't run off). For us, it's also the ONLY shampoo my dd isn't allergic to, so it's WORTH its weight in gold. My 2 cents. susan

My girls are three, and I still don't actually wash their hair with shampoo. I put the baby soap (using Aubrey's Organics right now) in the bath water, and then just use that to wash their hair. I have one girl with fine, straight hair, and one with thick, very curly hair. Curly head also gets a drop of Vitamin E oil massaged into her hair and scalp.

I use lotion called "Renew" from Malalueca (sp?) It's phenomonal.

I only shampoo with AA shampoo, but only shampoo once a week tops. I only give baths every 2 - 3 days. Everything I have been taught / read / told is that a bath with soap actually washes away good nutrition from your skin, and you should allow those natural oils to build up. Baths are okay if you don't use soap every day, but otherwise it's too much for thier skin.

I don't lotion every day, just do it when it's needed, with the Renew I don't have to...every other lotion I was doing it 2 times a day!

Shampoo when his hair gets greasy IMO, but it's not needed every day for most children.

Our ped (not pderm though) recommended Aveeno for DD's very sensitive skin. I bathe them once a week most of the time. If they go to grandma's they usually get an extra bath there too. If they get really dirty a good hand/foot/face bath in the sink usually works well. But, I do baths in between as necessary. Even typing this sounds crazy to me since I have to shower daily or I feel so gross I can't stand it!

We've always just used baby body wash on our babies from head to toe - they had lots of hair even as babies, too We actually still do this with our three year old, and her hair is down to her butt.

Hey Stormster! My "baby" S needs to get his first haircut this week (I'm very upset about it, but he's getting snarls and DH is threatening the buzz-clippers if I don't agree). S takes a bath every night, as he is also the messiest kid on the playground and has a dirt mustache every day. It's part of his bedtime routine. We use Aveeno wash and lotion, but haven't heard about the lavender issues (so please PM me with any info you have!). We only wash his hair every 3rd night but wet and scrub his scalp with the washcloth every night. S hasn't had any skin issues other than the scars from his mosquito bites (couldn't get anything to stop him from scratching them) so we probably have it easier than most!

Oh, and while I don't use them much, the disposable washclothes with soap in them have been lifesavers while we were camping! Super easy and I wish they had them for adults! While I wouldn't use them regularly, they do have a valid purpose.

I wouldn't use anything but....

Arbonne on a baby. It is all botanically based, won't dry and is excellent for eczema.
Blessings

A. has VERY sensitive skin. I use Nature's Gate products on him. The products are for baby's and are soap free. I wash him daily to every other day with it. His allergist suggested we use varicream also. It has worked WONDERS on his skin!!! You can get it at any pharmacy but have to ask for it b/c it is behind the counter.
