Sesame Street Support

Ok I'm totally and completely obsessed with Sesame Street. Is anyone else? I'd like to talk about my feelings. Take what interests you, leave the rest.

1. What happened to Kermit? Nobody will tell me...and what about Miss Piggy? Why retire them and not Big Bird?

2. Who is your favorite character? I love Murray, the little newscaster who always asks "What's the word on the street?" Did you notice his tongue is a heart? I can do a PERFECT imitation of him and can actually do the entire "Pirouette" segment like nobody's business.

3. I can also do the entire dance from Elmos world.

4. I thought the best guest they ever had was Neil Patrick Harris when he was the Shoe Fairy. Second place was Chris Brown singing "signs" How about you?

Somebody please come out and play. I'm on overload from talking politics and desperately need to lighten up!

Thanks in advance for your participation!

I <3 Wikipedia

Kermit the Frog - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kermit was a regular character on Sesame Street throughout the 1970s and 1980s. Closely identified with the show, he often appeared as an easily frustrated lecturer, a straight man to the humorous antics of another Muppet (most often Grover), or a news reporter interviewing nursery rhyme characters for Sesame Street News. The various songs he sang on Sesame Street tended to be meaningful in nature, most memorably his song "Bein' Green".

Following the death of Jim Henson, Kermit was used less frequently on Sesame Street, but still made appearances during the 1990s. Unlike the rest of the show's Muppets, he was never the property of Sesame Workshop, and was on the show under contract. Thus, when The Walt Disney Company bought out the character, he had to stop making new appearances on the show; however, Sesame Workshop does have the rights to rerun old sketches featuring Kermit.

Sorry, can't answer the rest - my son was Thomas and Barney Fan...we never watched SS

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE NPH so this gets my vote FOR SURE!!

I had no idea about the other stuff though!! Is Snuffy still on there?? I LOVED him and Alice. I was a fan of the old school characters and don't even know any of the new ones....

This year (or was it last??) the cast of Sesame street was on a float at the Rose Parade and I flipped out when I saw Bob and Gordon on the float. FLIPPED. OUT.

Yes, I'm 25.

Sorry to offend many I'm sure, but I'm WAY over elmo. Seriously. They could retire him and I'd do this:

***no flaming please~! haha***

My kids weren't all that into Sesame Street but I loved it as a kid. My faves are Bert & Ernie. Yes, I know the jokes and the rumors and I don't care. They rock!

Cookie Monster comes next and then Oscar.

Elmo needs to retire, but then we'd be taken over everywhere by screaming terrorized toddlers and I'm just not prepared for that.

My son loves Elmo, but I'm a bigger fan of Moose A. Moose and Zee on Noggin myself.

Can't we just phase elmo out??

Then THIS generation of pre-schoolers will be over it and we won't have to continue the vicious cycle! I'm ready to crack down on this Who's with me?? haha

I can't go there, I like Elmo. He's no Murray but he's so sweet.

E likes Cookie Monster. He's such a boy.

All you Elmo haters...I guess that's what happens when celebs get to overexposed - people turn on them... I guess you can say he's the Miley Cyrus of Sesame Street.

I was always a fan of Burt - I loved the saddle shoes...I also liked the little inch worm on Oscar's can...

I did NOT like those wierd alien monsters who constantly said "Meep meep or yip yip" or whatever it was.

My kids were never crazy about Sesame Street...They DID like Zaboomafoo, which i also a PBS show.

I don't care what anyone says, Kermit and Miss Piggy ELOPED. They have took their earnings from their acting days and are leaving on a secluded island. I am not at liberty to give any more information.

My mom would NEVER buy me saddle shoes, so I think I lived vicariously through Bert...

And by the way - where can we get a copy of this dance? You'll have to post it on the SBC thread!

My cookie monster voice is the only one that chills my (typical squirmy kiddo) niece out on the changing area...it gets her attention in a snap and then she cracks up at the end when I do "cookies cookies cookies" and tickle her toes.

This here is one of my all time favorites....I cracked up the first time I saw it:
YouTube - Sneak Peak of James Blunt on Sesame Street

If I HAD to watch a show I'd pick Blues Clues...with Steve. Some of those are really funny, not sure if a few were at the end of his contract and he went with it..but a few are just hysterical and a wee bit snarky even.

Oh I'll definitely watch stormster dance!!! haha

SPOILER ALERT TO MUPPETS TAKE MANHATTAN!!!! (HAHA)

And started, in Muppets Take Manhattan (one of my FAVE'S of all time!!!!) Kermie and Miss Piggy do get married!!! (Of course Piggy tricks Kermie by putting in a REAL priest during the big final number of their Broadway show! Kermie realizes this at the end and goes along with the wedding anyway. It's adorable )
