LOVE Sesame, and happily this is ALL Anabel watches right now. Her favorite videos are "Best of Elmo," "Learning about Letters," and my personal favorite "123 Count with Me" which I could watch all day.

My favorite guest star I saw in the past few years was Robert de Niro - a conversation between him and Elmoe had me laughing so hard I fell off the couch. . .

Jillian I thought Deniro was so blah. He's got no personality off screen! (what kind of New Yorker am I right? ) I thought David Beckam was pretty cute though...I'm sorry he's got no personality either but he's just such a sweetie.

What was the one where the bear with the speech thing won the Triangle Crown and was it Grover got soooo jealous? I love the messages in those.

I haven't read all the posts yet and only have a few minutes here but wanted to add that DD loves Sesame Street too but not the show yet. Her show is Wiggles.

We have a book from BMom that is Sesame Street and we have been working on shapes and names.

Of course her favorite is Elmo and has at least 6 different Elmo stuffed animals including TMX Elmo and numerous Elmo see and say books.

ooooh ummmm I guess you didn't know....there's a whole anti-elmo contingent on this thread.

What about that other opera singer? I forget her name, she sang Sing with the penguins?

Also there was this GORGEOUS football player...he looks biracial. He was the single most beautiful guy I have EVER seen. I think his name was Jason something?

THAT is the ONLY Elmo thing that I adore!!!!! TGM and Brock...

Sorry but I'm not sure how good an elmo hating platform is going to be for you. Ty is thinking about giving you back the lipstick (like there is any left) and taking off the button...as political figures, you really should more family friendly...It's not nice to hate. Red Monsters have feelings too...

This is not political, it's personal. We will not try to ban Elmo, but perhaps just give more air time to some of the other characters. We believe in equal opportunity for muppets.

If Ty is in need of more lipstick, it can be arranged!

Okay....reading this thread brought joy to my heart!!!! I found myself saying, ME TOO!! ME TOO!!! Soooo many times!!!!!

The "old guys" on the Muppets were Statler and Waldorf. I have a friend that we refer to ourselves as Statler and Waldorf.....it's great fun!!!! (It is when we are being "critics"...LOL)

Fraggle Rock was wonderful. I recently bought a DVD of several episodes at either Target or Walmart for like $5. It was great!!!!!!!!!!!!! The kids enjoy it too, but not as much as me. I was like..SHHHHH we gotta hear the theme song!!! Dance your cares away..worries for another day....let the music play..Down at Fraggle Rock...

My best friend in high school and I were obsessed with Seasame Street too!! We had "code" names.. I was Grover, he was my favorite. She was Bert, cause that was her favorite. I'll never forget when she pasted grovers head on a body building picture and hung it in my locker...Honestly, I kept it throughout highschool in my locker..and I bet I still have it packed away! In Biology class, we had to do a "project" and we developed a Snuffy that helped people...we even had a story to go along with it. Our teacher loved it soo much she took it to some state thing she had to go to....lol Yes, we owned coloring books, ect...sad..sad...you can see why I need this thread.

And, yes the book, There's A Monster At the End Of This Book is still around. I have it at my one daycare. I love it. However, my favorite was Ernie's Big Mess (I think that is what it was called.) It's where Ernie has a pot on his head....and Bert is asking him why..and he goes through this LONG (sorta like my post) story about how he had to take this of that and put it in something else..so on and so forth...LOVED that!

Thanks for lifting my spirits...of course I am in my office at work, suppose to be "working" but hey....it's about Sesame Street...so that could be work for me!!!!

Or bling! If Ty wants bling Brock can hook that up too!!!

The fact of the matter is that everyone will not completely support ALL of our opinions...I hope that people see past the Elmo issues and see the heart of our platform: Shoes and lipgloss.

The thing is, we support monsters of ALL colors! Why JUST red monsters with squeaky voices that refer to themselves in the third person? (I'm assuming he still does that...) All those monsters deserve a voice

(phew, I think I dug us out of near political suicide Brock!!!)
