Sweaty Kid

Anyone know why DS would be sweating like crazy the last few days? It is hot for sure and very humid but he's NEVER sweat at all before and now his head even gets wet.

I don't really want to take his temp. He's acting totally normal. Should I take temp?

I would check his temp because sweating is not normal for him... It could be a low grade temperature.

I've read that unless temp goes over 102 not to give tylenol etc, only treat with plenty of fluids and rest as fever is our bodies natural defense for illness...

Check his temp...could be his molars coming in...If he has a low grade fever for more than three or four days running, then call the Dr. Honestly though if it's a low grade fever, I would take it rectally or not at all, cause a few degrees can make a lot of difference.

e-mail me if you need anything else

Storm: Joshie was that way the other day and I decided we just had too many clothes on him. He had on a long sleeved shirt (outdoors was high 50's, low '60's) then a sweatshirt type jacket on top. He fell asleep in the car and when dh went to get him out he was soaked with what we thought was urine, but his diaper was dry. He was soaked through with sweat. I didn't even think to check his temp either. We just undressed him and put a short sleeved shirt on him and he's been fine since.

Blessings, Michelle

Higher humidity with warmer weather can really make a little one sweat. My parents used to live in a really humid climate and I'd laugh how our clothes STAYED wet when we were there, esp. my littlest child's. susan

Just an update I really do think it was the humidity! Last night we were setting up Es bouncy castle and I started to sweat like crazy (not a big sweater).

BTW my friend told me her doc said that it's a myth that kids run temps when the teethe????? I always believed it was true!

I heard it was a myth too but then DD seems to have a temp each time as I test. Of course she is easy to tell if she has a temp as her hands get too hot to hold too.
