Thought I'd start us off...here is a photo of me with our youngest in South Africa. And yes, my hair looks like that all the time. In fact, my solution to ponytail days are to buy really nice sunglasses, and wear them on your head. Saves time and effort! But, this thread has inspired me - I am colouring my hair as we speak...

Does anyone have a solution for really fine hair? Good haircuts, etc?

Wow, girl, you look amazing!!!! Way to go on the weight loss...and you DEFINITELY don't need to lose more weight! Congrats! No advice on the double jogging stroller, our single one is by Baby Jogger and I love it - the only advice I have is to get a plain one with few bells and whistles - the bells and whistles add up to extra weight which makes it harder to push. Also, go for the biggest wheels you can find - I can push ours on gravel, easy trails, etc which makes it nice for running variety.

Since I have lost all the weight, I really do need new clothes. I have been buying stuff at goodwill, because I didn't want to buy all new stuff just to have to replace it when I dropped another size. How is that for self confidence????? I don't know that I will be able (or should!) lose much more, so I feel pretty confident buying stuff in the size (a 2!!) that I now am. I still have to get it on sale, though. It is not a good buy unless you get it cheap!!!

I am also thinking of getting a double jogging stroller for the days when we can't make it to the Y. Any suggestions????

Sorry - also wanted to add that I am also a size 2. Except that some of the manufacturers of my clothes get mixed up sometimes and add a "1" before the "2". Weird, eh?

I was trying to post that we should stage a rebellion for anyone that wears a 2 to be exiled out of the thread... She doesn't need our help

Finally: The weight I've lost has actually been post baby. DD was born and within two weeks I'd dropped almost 15 pounds. The other 21 have come off more slowly.
I told DH that we have to adopt at least one more time so I can lose another 36 pounds, then I'll be happy!

Storm: I absolutely, totally, completely do not believe in foundations. I have a very nice bronzing powder that I use.
When I wear makeup, which isn't often. In fact, before we had family pictures done last Saturday, I don't think I'd worn makeup since May.

So both our daughters were born in March 07 and the weight I have gained with stress you lost. Why did you pass it to me?? Just kidding. I still need to get serious here.

I have to have foundation in that my skin tone varies so much on my face. I have to cover rosy cheeks that don't blend in. Storm got a good suggestion?

Tinted moisturizer is GREAT for taking the red out. Just get a yellow/golden shade to even out the red. If you are very very fair maybe self tanner isn't for you but I'm pretty sure Neutragena makes a pretty good one for light skin. also, there are great mineral powder bronzers as well but your skin has to be dry and clean!

It doesn't turn orange anymore~ it's 2008! They know stuff now! Just take a clean face, pull back your hair and put about a dime sized amount on your hand. Rub hands together and swipe up and around your face a few times. cover everything, wipe eyebrows, hairline and near ears with a tissue and wash your hands well. It will dry in a minute or two and then just some lip gloss and eye makeup....for me that is the best look for the day.

And I think pony tails are sexy if everything else is put together.

Butt hat's just me and btw I got the mani pedi ....very pale pink kind of sheer. MUCh better.

Hope you don't mind another joiner. I really need help.

I wear eyeliner and mascara. I dye my hair.

I dress uber-casually, because of my kids and my job.

I tend to try to look a bit tough because of my job - I'm a community mental health worker.

The resulting effect is that I look like I'm in a rock band Not what I was intending to look like, it just kinda happened. The other women in my profession all look so put-together and classy. They don't see clients in dangerous parts of town in the middle of the night. At meetings they all look like they came out of a Reitman's commercial with their professional clothes and their open toed sandals and their pedicures.

I've never had a manicure or pedicure. My finger nails grow and break off whenever they please - I just use them to open things. I have blue-black hair, just like my 15 year old. I wear a leather jacket - I have two colours, black and dark brown (they're tight and short - you know, the modern kind). Leather jackets are good for community work because you can wipe them off. The only pants I wear are jeans. I only wear men's jeans because I have no hips so when I wear women's jeans they have weird baggy parts sticking out where I should have hips. I wear tank tops with an open shirt over top - usually 100% polyester overshirts. I wear only flat shoes because I have arthritis.

My last student suggested I try to look more maternal for our interview with an adoption worker . I bought one of those empire waist shirts that are popular right now, but it seriously makes me look pregnant. Are those flattering on anyone? What are you supposed to wear if you don't want to look like you're ancient, but don't want to look like you're trying to pass for a teenager?

Waiting for decision on a boy/girl sib group (3 & 4), a sib group of two boys (8 & 9), a teen boy (14), and on J (11) that we were matched with and then told we probably won't be able to have after all.

Hi Canada!
First off I would say if you are dying your hair black, see if you can take it back a notch to brown. It's very hard to go back from black but if you can without damaging it it would really be worth the investment.

I would say get rid of anything black. No black eye pencil, no black mascara.....less is more and make it all medium brown. I really think if you soften all that black to brown it will be more "classy" for lack of a better word!

Other than that I say jeans are great as long as they are clean. You can even iron them and give them a crease if you want to feel a bit more put together and yeah....get a pair of nice comfortable shoes. Do you guys have Aerosoles up there? They are kind of chic and very comfy! Get a nice white button down from Gap or something and throw that leather jacket over it!

Please don't exile me. Did you see the horrific tee shirt and capris I was wearing? I BUY MY CLOTHES AT GOODWILL!! I can still be in, right????

I actually just for back from the GW. I love it. Mine is such a rocking place. I got DH a Man with the Yellow Hat costume, since Marco will be Curious George for Halloween. So cute.

Sorry, off topic. So, wanna know what keeps me motivated, day to day? There is a woman in my neighborhood who has 4 kids under 4. She is so sweet and a fantastic mom. But I have literally NEVER seen her out of sweats and tee shirts. I feel so bad for her that she is so busy she can't even pull on a pair of jeans, and I so don't want to be that mom. I desperately want to be the cute mom. The hip mom. Maybe if I started buying new clothes instead of everyone else's rejects, it would help. But I now have a really hard time buying anything over $4. It is a sickness and I need help.

Karyn - I also have fine hair. I use mousse or a root lifter and then blow dry with a round brush. I can usually get some volume with that.
