Can I join?! I need encouragement. After 37 years as a complete tomboy, I'm having to do some major sprucing. I just joined a new AA church with Daniel. We go with some friends. And MAN, the dress code is a little nicer than my old church. The women wear fancy dresses, jewelry, some are even in HATS!!

So, you know . . . When in Rome. After getting by with the dresses in my closet for the past couple of months, I finally broke down and went shopping. Nice dresses, 3 inch heals (How do people walk in those?!!!) make-up. Now that was humbling. I basically had to tell the woman at the counter - I've never worn this stuff. I have no idea what I'm doing. Help me out here, please.

This Sunday I got all dressed up and my partner just looked at me, jaw dropped. "Wow. You look really good honey!" (So maybe it's worth it?) As I walked to the church in those really uncomfortable shoes, I kept chanting to myself, "I love my child. I love my child. He's totally worth this."

I'm completely intimidated at the thought that manicures and pedicures might be a necessary part of girlhood.

You don't HAVE to get a mani pedi. But you have to have trim, clean nails. You just DO.

And you can always put on something like Nailtiques at home for a bit of shine, or buff! I love the look of buffed nails.

I have very ugly feet and very pretty hands if I do say so myself. But the feet are practically monster feet so I need the pro for that! Thank god it's winter so I can hide them again!

No more 3 inchers for me (heck I used to work in 4 inchers!) Now I'm all about the 1.5-2.5 inch WEDGE. I actually feel better in a little wedge than flats and you feel a bit more dressed kwim?

I sign off for the night and come back in the am to 3 pages! Ok, we have now all admitted a problem. We know we need to do something for ourselves. Let's do it!

I have not been able to go to the gym since Tuesday. Timo is just so sore from having his tonsils out. I didn't get up early enough to take a shower alone, since I was up all night with him and needed the extra sleep. So, I am going to have to take a shower with the kids this morning. But, I am going to bust out the superyard and put Marco in it so that I can blow dry my hair. I am also going to put on eye makeup! YAY! If I can, I am going to go to the gym when DH gets home from work tonight.

Can I admit something that makes me NOT feel like a sexy beast? Marco is still nursing, but has a preference as to which side he likes. So, lefty is much much bigger than righty. I am so lopsided it it not even funny. Kinda hard to feel sexy when the one of the girls is too skinny and one is too fat!!

Ok..so I am totally in!

I have been visiting my parents this week, so my sister and I did pedi's last night, although she did harp on me for doing a "boring light pink" instead of her flashy gold, but hey I got it done! I also finally cut my long hair, and I am so in love with the cut!

Now about the 10 pounds I need to lose...ummm yeah...I am not sure where it came from but yikes! Although last night I did eat dinner just so I could eat cake (my sister said I am not old enough that if I want cake for dinner I should just do it -I should have listened)! I am not obsessive about it, but once the double chin starts to show I know there is a problem! I am hoping and praying that cooler weather gets here soon so I can start walking in the mornings. I want to lose this weight before our baby comes!!! That is my motivation-and my husbands Navy Ball in a month...

I am so in to be a Sexy Beast...

Seriously. I ordered a swimsuit for our vacation and it came yesterday. I put it on, went to the mirror, and.....saw my grandmother. This is not good.
I'm growing out my hair from a super short cut and it's at the frizzy curly stage as opposed to the pretty curly stage.
I've lost 36 of the 60 lbs I'd gained but I've got a looong way to go and I get mad at myself regularly for letting this happen.
Add to that the fact that for the first time since I was 11 I bought a one piece swimsuit and I am in major need of a life reset.
So.....I'm in!

My favorite shoes are my Ecco sandals - not beastie at all, but oh so comfortable.

(Sounds like Aclee and Storm are meeting up soon? YAY!! I met my dearest a.com friend after we had talked on the phone and emailed for over 2 1/2 years and brought home 4 children between the two of us. It was like meeting a sister!! She was passing gas in front of me within a day. That sounds VERY non-beast, but it was so hilarious and real. Just how I like it.)
