Adoption Questions

I am searching adoption agencies and I need to know what kinds of questions I should ask them I am hoping to adopt a hispanic child. The home study is done .. Some agencies want money just to fill out application to be accepted to their agency so I would like to make sure I ask all the question upfront. Please e-mail me soon as I have one agency that I want to know more about. Does anyone know of good agency to use Thank You so much

Hey there! I'm in Canada so I don't have any advice on agency selection.

Some questions you might consider...

- If you are wanting to adopt a hispanic child, you may wish to ask the percentage of hispanic children placed within that agency.

- If you have a budget (how could you not?), get a very black and white outline of the fee's and fee schedule. How much is upfront? What is that agencies view on birthmother expenses? How much do you have to put up when matched? Do you get that money back if a match falls through?

- Inquire as to the councelling provided to expecting parents and birthparents (pre and post placement)

-I would also want to know their stats on revocations per year, failed matches as well as placemnts per year.

I'm sure there is a ton more, but that comes to mind

You may want to know how many hispanic expectant parents they have versus how many families are waiting for a hispanic child. You need to know the average wait in the last year for a hispanic child. You may want to research adoption in states with large hispanic populations like Texas, Arizona, Californis, Florida. You need to know how much you will owe and when you owe it. Good Luck with your adoption journey!
