I am sorry that it looks like you are being interrogated. However, when you make a claim that does not have a factual basis, you will get asked follow up questions. (Just as you did me.)

No actually mdesi, you twisted my words. You CLAIMED that I said Palin took sex ed out of the schools. Yet I did not. You claimed I said that Palin's daughter did not receive sex ed in school yet I did not.

As for the quote I posted. Those were McCain's own words. It was a quote. They do not think that we should be telling our kids not to have sex but then go ahead and tell them how to do it. That is what he SAID. So please don't tell me that it had no factual basis. It's what the man said. He may have flip flopped on that NOW since many people are not in favor of that idea. But that's something else altogether.

I just have to add, that when I was in middle and high school, I had sex it. In high school we had those (baby think it overs) I had already had my daughter but I must say take home one of those baby think it overs and I tell you more teens will slip on that condom! I ordered two for my non profit, because I want my teen moms to see what it is like with a newborn, without giving them a real newborn. The cool thing about the babies I ordered is that if they shake the baby I will find everything out when I take the chip out and put it in the computer. I am for sex education, but I want real life sex education. Bring in teen moms to show others how hard it is. Bring in people who have AIDS and other things and let them tell their story. I have found real world hits home usually, not always but far better than placing a condom on a banana and watch that movie about change. My high school didn't give out condoms, my DCF did hand out condoms by the pounds to clients to prevent a second pregnancy etc. I hope to be able to hand those out also to clients who want them.

As for the topic at hand, I dislike both people who we get to pick from for mean reasons. The person who I think should run for Pres isn't. So in my case I will be doing like many and voting for the one who is the less evil and whose issues are close to the ones I want to see change in with that said, I still don't see Adoption Reform and Child Abuse Prevention on the top of any list...maybe one day. Education is also important and again that seems to be taking a backseat! I am wishing for a huge change...but that might not come for yet another four years when it comes to the issues I so care about

Well I am very late into this post and there are many topics going on regarding Palin. So I am talking in the middle and probably out of the box but here goes.

All I want to say and clarify is that any type of sex education begins at your local government. Sarah Palin as Governor can only go by her state law for Alaska concerning sex education(each state may or may not have laws concerning sex education). One thing you all have to remember is that this is her personnal belief not the state of Alaska or the Mccain camp.

It is the local school board that makes most of these choices for your children. You want to change it voice your opinion to your school board. I know it doesn't always work but you have to try.

I do want to say that it certainly starts at the parents responsiblity. I just had the question the other day from my 8 year old. I so was not ready for that at this point but dh and I sat down with him and had a discussion that we thought was appropriate for his age. I know that he now knows that he can come to us with more questions as he thinks of them as I know he will.
