I didn't know why, but I expected that was the case...He looked very stiff last night, and I sort of think part of that is being on stage with a running mate that is much younger and active...

Anyone else think that by choosing Palin, McCain looks older?

I thought it was freaking adorable when she was introducing the kids, and her youngest daughter made the other kids stand up...that was so cute!

THERE ARE EIGHT DIFFERENT WAYS YOUR CHILD CAN DIE ON A CORDED WINDOW TREATMENT
Read "How Safe Cords Kill" at www.pfwbs.org

THREE CHILDREN HAVE STRANGLED TO DEATH SINCE ANGEL DIED ON 8/11/09.
Brandyn Coppedge died on 9/11/09. Rosie Smith died on 9/30/09 and Thapelo Kwofie died on 11/1/09. The Consumer Product Safety Commission is no longer recommending safety kits. They are now recommending that anywhere children live or visit should be free of corded window products.

Fred Thompson gave a very moving speech on Tuesday night about McCain and his time as a POW. McCain was tortured constantly, put in solitary confinement for 2 years, and his arms were broken multiple times, first when his plane crashed, then several times over the course of the next 5 years as a result of the torture he endured.

I can't imagine going through that. But his politics these days (the "maverick" was more appealing) still stink, IMO.

But Brock! I changed from the evil "IT" clown that was apparently causing many a nightmare for members here to the more friendly Krusty! What do you want? Chuckie???? Mwa ha ha haaaa!

It's relative to my clowning around with politics these days since I am finding everything a bit of a joke lately with both candidates and their camp's slinging. I am tired of them bashing each other and want the actual issues and plans discussed...kwim?

Off to look for yet another clown who won't scare people...sigh....the things I have to do! LOL!

Count me in on the "Anti Clowns" ticket. Clowns give me the heebie jeebies!!

Someone sent our son a clown picture frame and a clown doll. "Scary Clown" went right into the trash.

YUCK.

We know McCain isn't exactly king of the speeches or unscripted talks, so he does need someone to balance him that can do that. I think they will shelter her a little the next couple weeks so she can study and learn the ropes and study McCain's foreign policy etc. Everyone is watching her, and they can't afford a "pitbull" (or was it bulldog?) running around with no leash (even if she's wearing lipstick) when everyone and their brother want to watch her screw up.

The debates should be very, very good.

Is it me, or can McCain not lift his arms above his shoulders? Reagan was the same age as McCain when he took office the second time, and I don't recall him looking so feeble...He did dye his hair though...

I can not wait for the debates. For the record Palin's first time out speaking was with zero prompt. I think she's one of those persons who's mastered the art of public speaking, she seems to really embrace the crowds and doesn't loose focus. Bring on the debates!!

The comments about McCain being a stiff, broken old man always makes me cringe and wish people really knew more about him. So many still just don't know what he endured for country. What that man survived and essentially volunteered for by not leaving others behind. He deserves nothing but respect on a purely human level. Forget politics, his story deserves a huge amount of American respect. And then to claim he's milking it, as if his personal truth for love of country and fellow soldier should be one of those "get over it" moments. 5 1/2 years of milking it moments (where he was tortured in ways most can not imagine) according to those who would rather he just be seen as an old broken down man rather than the incredible stuff he's made of.

Bring it on....can't wait for those debates!!

Ok - don't want to get into this debate, but I've been reading...

however - My dh and I totally saw the prompter when she was speaking. you could only see it from some angles but it was there.

But who cares? I sure wouldn't want to be making the speach of a lifetime without a prompter!!!

Leigh, I was wondering about that too. There were several times that I was able to read her prompter. But she definitely seemed comfortable...

No, not last night. Last night wasn't her first time "speaking" as a VP nominee. I was talking about when she was introduced as his running mate days ago...not last night. Last night had the standard prompts. I think she'll be great in a debate setting. Biden they have to be careful with.....that man must have aquired a taste for his own foot by now

Oh that is horrible!!!! My worse clown experience happened at an amusement park at halloween. A friend and I were going through the haunted house, and I just commented that I wasn't so scared anymore. Well the next room we went into was a Child's Room..with a LIVE clown!!!!!! My friend told the clown to "get her"...and it CHASED me around in a circle..I WAS SCREAMING LIKE A SISSY!!!!! I almost peed my pants. The worse part, my so called friend, stood in front of the exit and laughed...... yeah..someday i will get her back!!!
