new to domestic adoption - need info
Hi -
We adopted our son from Ethiopia three years ago and are ready to adopt our fourth and final child. We are set on adopting an African-Amerian or biracial newborn. Money is the only thing holding us back at this point - we are sad to say that that will definitely be a major factor in our choice of agency. Anybody have agency recommendations or BTDT advice? Thanks in advance, Amanda |

We are doing a private adoption. There is a tax credit of 11K. Our total costs will be less than the credit, so ultimately, we will pay nothing.
If you have enough income to be able to use the credits, and I think you can use them over 3 years, you could try for a non-agency match. We did an online profile, internet networking, and letters to obstetricians. We were matched via an ob. There are lots of AA and bi-racial babies that need families, you just need to do the work to find yours. |
