Our adopted daughter has blonde hair and blue eyes and is petite - so in that sense she looks like me. Our adopted son looks a lot like dh. Right down to the fact that they both only have one dimple, on the right side! But the three kids (one bio) really look like biological siblings. J and T don't look so much alike, other than the coloring,. but E bridges the gap, as he looks a lot like each of them. The parts of his face that don't look like J, look like T, and vice versa. I have strangers comment on how you can sure tell they are brothers and sister because they all look so much alike. and not one of them is blood related!

Ha! We actually had a couple people in the hospital ask if Cameron looked more like Seth or I. I just cracked up. Cameron has really nice bluish (pre-Glenn), brown skin and really looks nothing like Seth and I. I guess they weren't looking very closely underneath the vent, IV's, chest tubes, etc.

I get that all the time. I'm told Kelcee had my mannerisms like when I was a child and she looks "so" much like me. I just smile when it is strangers and laugh when it is family.

It was actually the boys' birthmom who first said that Andrew looked just like me and Aidan looked just like DH. We thought at first she was just being nice, but wow! And I think it is actually the opposite- Andrew looks a lot like dh in facial shape and features , but has blonde hair/blue eyes like me - Aidan looks just like my brother did at this age, and has the more round/square face shape and the blue eyes like I do.

It is funny the folks who don't know - we get comments all the time about "can definitely tell that one is yours!" - to which we just smile and walk on!

We get told all the time that she looks like us. She really looks more like DH than she looks like me. But even at her doctor's office where they know she is adopted the nurses still say it is amazing how much she looks like us.

My fosterson (prayerfully adopted son soon) looks just like me - it's uncanny. My mom used to say if you feed and clothe somone long enough they will start to look like you!

we get this all the time. dh is filipino, and very dark. dh is even darker than elijah, who is cc/aa. so maybe that is why.
funny, i had a 11 year old boy (step child of a friend of mine) who is actually adopted from russia say " he looks just like your husband, but just not the hair...", lol.... he didn't know than that elijah is adopted. when i told him, he was obviously embarresed.
i had people also tell me "he looks just like mama..."
what is weired though, sometimes, his expressions, his little smiles and facial features remind me so much of my brother!!! and what is also funny, my mother in law, when she first saw elijah when he was 2 weeks old said, he looks just like my brother...

We get told all the time DS looks like me. We both have very dark eyes and hair. We are also both pretty fair skinned. They also say he has his daddys nose. The funny thing is you can compare our baby pictures and we do look alike.

I told hubby that of course our biokids would be brown haired and brown eyed since those are dominant traits (I'm brown haired, brown eyed). Nope! Both biokids blonde with blue eyes. Hubby has unusual blue green eyes and so does biodaughter and adopted son!

We joke that I had to adopt to get a daughter who looks like me. She is brown haired, brown eyed, left handed, even allergic to citrus fruits like me.

People knowing that we have both bio and adopted children always guess wrong as to which ones are adopted - part of that could be that it is our OLDER children that are adopted.

Actually people usually assume that my 15 year old son is my brother. I look very young (hair dye is a wonderful thing!) and he looks much older than his age. It's so funny to watch the doubletakes when my 5'9" 200lb son calls me Mom!

I don't think we necessarily look a lot alike. But somebody once (while actually looking at our boys) asked my husband how he's able to tell our boys apart! They're 4 months apart in age and not biologically related. There was also the time in line at the grocery store when the woman behind me (again while actually scrutinizing my boys sitting in the cart) said "I know they're twins, but are they identical?"

Go figure.

My son is adopted from Guatemala and never in a million years did I expect to have a child who looks like me. But people (both those who know he is adopted and those who don't) tell me how much we look alike. Here's a photo of us when he was 2 months old. I think he is much better looking than me, but I just smile and say thank you!
