Very true. This particular guy isn't. After 9/11 quit a good job and signed up. (not that a gay person doesn't do that either...just telling his story!)

Oh Gosh no...I'm nothing like my parents. Either one of them. I'm more of a hippie than they were

I wanna get some chickens. Can you have chicken if you live in suburbia? Do they get hit by cars?

Does anyone else read the title of this thread and think about the Broadway play "Guys and Dolls"? I've never seen it...is it good?

Just trying to see if this thread can get anymore random It's one of the best yet!

A Lady on a busy road on the way to DH work has TONS of them...we get our eggs there sometimes. Last time, I saw some of her new chicks. I don't know if she just has so many she doesn't notice if they wander off, get eaten, or hit by cars....but they aren't fenced or anything. They are everywhere...2 feet from the road. When you pull in they all run into the bushes. One little one escorted me up the drive way and back. She said he's really needy and follows her kids in the house and up and down the stairs and everything. I wanted to take that one home, but DH said no. He thinks the dogs will eat them, or the neighbor's cat. I think the chickens could stand up for themselves. I only want 2, and I think that's reasonable...he doesn't...I'm still working on it.

Actually he says if he let's me get 1 farm animal I'll want them all. He could be right, it's a slipperly slope....we live on .2 of an acre

I had a pet chicken when I was a little girl that I hatched in an incubator. Her name was little. When she got big we gave her to a farm. They said she was tasty

I lived in downtown Seattle in a very poor neighborhood and my neighbors not only had chickens, but goats. Every Sunday morning I woke up to the sound of some poor animal howling as it was being beheaded....Eek!

Speaking of dolls, my favorite doll is actually Chuckie (the deranged doll from Child's Play)....not sure my DD would like him!

Another part of our discussion...I saw I could totally eat them (if we had more than 2, only 2, you get to know the little guys) he says I couldn't. I say I could raise a pig and eat it too...he says HE couldn't, so he knows I couldn't. He did a couple years of 4-H and thinks he's mr. know how of the farm...

Well....I am republican, my parents are republican, but I am because I CHOOSE to be.

Of course...I also had the courage not to go along with the "cool crowd" and become a democrat just because every up and coming celebrity was one. Just in case we were throwing generalizations out there.

*p.s. totally kidding around here, just making fun (though I am a very proud republican). No need to throw stones or political mumbo jumbo at me. LOL!

We were just laughing about our youngest daughter figuring out that the chicken we ate for dinner was chicken. She was really appalled when we told her what hamburger and bacon was! She was about 3. She drew the line at eating rump roast.
