OT: If my kid grows up to be an Olympic Athlete

Okay - we have been crazy about watching the Olympics the last 2 weeks at my house. Are we the only ones?

My boys are really into the swimming, track etc. And Em of course loves the Gymnastics. Over the weekend we were watching the rowing and Hubby turned to me and said, "I have the perfect thing for Em to do in the Olympics" (you need to know the she has a very severe heart defect and is not able to do a lot physically other than walk, and jump about 1/2 inch off the ground). "She can be the Coxswain - They are tiny, they sit in the boat and yell and tell people what to do - she'd be great at that!"

So tell us what event your kid will compete in at future Olympics and why. And let's be fun and creative!

Ty will be the gold medal tub splasher. He ended up with his first diaper rash so we were soaking in the tub and I would put him belly down on my legs so everything but his head was under the water....you should have seen this little guy go at it...legs were going in the frog motion, and arms were splashing! The dogs sat next to us and drank the water of the floor...

Dh wanted to take a video, and I said...um, no.

Ok, seriously, I think I have a gymnast on my hands. She is the strongest little thing and a daredevil on top of that! One of her favorite pastimes is climbing onto the couch (by herself) and then head diving off....assuming I'll catch her. And if she catches me off guard, scaring me half to death, it's even more fun for her!
Also, she loves when her daddy throws her in the air, flips her around, etc. She is something else!

DD could definitely compete in high jump. Maybe long jump too. She bounces everywhere she goes.

15 month old DS . . . hundred meter dash. I really think he could compete in that now except that I'd have trouble getting him to go in the correct direction.

11 month old DS is a wrestler no question. Do they have that in the olympics? And I think he could chuck a shotput respectably.

I think my little guy would be in the Canine Equestrian competition. He loves to try to ride the dog!

Seriously H will probably be a rower. DH rowed for UPenn and Oxford Univ. He also was on the national team and still very active in the community. So there is nooo way H isn't going to row

ps If your daughter becomes a coxswain beware it's soooo boring to watch! I have been to MANY races wonder why am I here?? hahah

No doubt, a Runner. This boy can move. A couple of months ago I thought he would never walk. Now we can't keep up. LOL.

DD was a gymnastics nut prior to the Olympics, but it is now completely out of control! She is flipping off the couch and practicing her cartwheels (already better than I could ever do) like a madwoman! She is VERY upset tonight that there is not any gymnastics on.

DS#1 I don't know about - he is more a organizer than a participant - but DS#2, definetly wrestling. He can't seem to keep his hands to himself and is constantly in trouble for tackling and wrestling down his siblings!

Not a bad idea! Cameron could join in on another boat.

He could also medal in being the most active with the lowest sats!

Honestly, I have had this little fantasy this week that A really WILL be an Olympic athlete someday. She has these amazing muscles and is really the strongest 2 year old I've ever met.

So - gymnast I think would be best, since she has the core strength AND she's always in motion.

Weightlifting maybe? She is always surprising me with what she can lift

Swimming? She loves the water - in the bath I call her my mermaid.

Or maybe boxing or wrestling, because she keeps hitting people. Sigh. . .

Gymnastics,,,, especially the floor comp.....
Now if there was a event for "showmanship" she would win that one hands down,,,, she is soooo not shy and will stand up and perform her songs and dances for anyone lol
