OT - Book suggestions ...please!!

So I'm looking for a new book to read....preferably a really good one. LOL!! As you all know, everyone likes different things....maybe if I say what I like/don't like that will help.

I just read the entire twilight series last week- LOVED it!! Big time. The only thing I wish was that it wasn't written for teens.... They'd be getting all romantic - then POOF it would be the next day. Now I'm not looking for naughty naughty, but c'mon!!! A little bit more than THAT!!

I loved the Harry Potter Series.....Really enjoyed Wicked and Confessions of an Ugly Step Sister....

I've read alot of stephen king - I like his stories but they seem to take FOREVER to really get going... I don't think I'm looking to read his style at the moment...

Worst book ever written - Snow Falling On Cedars (cringe)

I'm not interested in reading a Danielle Steele type book - tho I would like some sort of romance in the plot

SO...... any suggestions? I've thought about maybe picking up an Anne Rice book......

I can not say enough good things about Janet Evanovich! Her numbered series starting with "One for the Money" is hilarious and the steamy romance between the main characters is to die for!! She is up to book 14 now so you would have lots to read but sooo well worth it!

Try the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. There are now 6 books, and I practically inhaled them. The books have everything: fascinating period details, hot men in kilts, adventure, romance, strong family relationships, mixed with a few supernatural details. Check them out.

Thanks Michelle!! I've never even heard of that series!! Humor is always good and I'm all about a little steam lol

Is it an ongoing series with the same characters - or just the same author? I love it when a series is well established - i don't have to WAIT for the next book!! lol

Each book has the same main characters but each book is it's own. You get the ending, but there is always something you are looking forward to for when the next book comes out. But you aren't left hanging looking for answers. Seriously, go get that first one and I promise you, you will be hooked! I laugh so hard sometimes that hubby will ask me to read aloud what I am laughing about

Did you read: Son of Wicked. There is also: Mirror Mirror and Lust. All by the same author.

Son of a witch? ya know...I took it out of the library and then had to return it before I had a chance to read it. Then I worried that I would have forgotten too much from wicked to really enjoy it.

what do you think? how much do i really have to remember?

I really couldn't get into Wicked, bad I know, but I am going to try it again since I have been reading Son without too much of a problem.

My neighbor was just telling me that I HAD to read The Shack. She works at a dentist office and said all the workers have read it and now everytime she goes into the waiting room someone is reading it. I'm going to go to the bookstore this weekend and see about it.

I checked out some reviews on The Shack...All the "if you like this you may like these" books were very religion oriented....Is it a churchy book?

I read The Shack. Awesome book, again can't say enough good about it. As for "churchy", yes and no. "Mac" the main character meets "God" "Jesus" and "The Holy Spirit". It was very eye opening to me. Good book!
