Pimple-like bumps & small rash

Our DS has a pimple-like bump on his cheek, forehead and arm. It started with the one on his cheek and arm a week ago. Yesterday I noticed a tiny rash/dry patch of skin on his shoulder. I'm wondering if it's all a reaction to peas which he started eating a little over a week ago. Plus the doctor had him take Miralax (to soften his stools) so maybe it could be a reaction to that. Anyone experience this? He's eating fine, no fever and he's as active as ever.

My Joshie is allergic to insect bites...they swell into welts with the actual raised bite in the center. Another possibility is "Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease" which my Joshie was also diagnosed with when he had pimply blisters. It is a virus and there is no med that will destroy it so you just have to ride it out.

It sounds doubtful that it is an allergic reaction, but whenever in doubt, contact your ped and let him/her know.

Blessings, Michelle

Acne treatment

Acne is a skin disease caused by changes in the pilosebaceous units (skin structures consisting of a hair follicle and its associated sebaceous gland). Severe acne is inflammatory, but acne can also manifest in noninflammatory forms Acne lesions are commonly referred to as pimples, spots, or zits.
you can remove it through online treatment

E had hand foot mouth (Coxsackie Virus) but those red dots normally occur on the sole of the feet, palm of the hand and inside the mouth. You would probably know if your child had it because there would be fever or some other symptoms along with it. E had 104 temp at one point.

E also has a topical pea allergy but it doesn't manifest in the way you described. He just gets red and blotchy where the peas touched on his face.

If I were you I'd see a Pediatric Dermatologist. We have dealt with fungal infections, staph and even a kind of Impetigo and E is only a year old. All of his skin stuff occurred in the genital area but we've had amazing results seeing our Derm. She's amazing. If you want to PM me where you live perhaps she can recommend someone in your area!

it could also be eczema. elijah had the first bout of eczema when he was 8 weeks old. eczema in babies is often in the face, arms, and legs.
elijah's eczema also looked like pimples, but it didn't bother him thank goodness, never scratched at it. it was a mild case, which he has another bout of right now (his second one "only" in his 18 month of life, thank goodness).
first i thought it was heat rash, but it didn't go away. he has it mainly on his back, butt, shoulders, and some in the face and trunk. i had just gone to the pediatric dermatologist with him, and got a precription.
for eczema, you want to keep skin moisturized as much as possible: daily, warm (not hot) 5 min. baths, and put a parfume free lotion on to the still damp skin (2-3 min. after coming out of the water). cetaphil and eucerine lotions are good examples. lotion 2x daily. keep the baby cool, use cotton clothing. this is what i have been doing since elijah was 8 weeks old, and we have never had another bout of eczema until just a week ago.
if i were you, i would go to your pediatrician, just to make sure.
good luck

Thanks everyone for your responses! I think I know what caused the pimple-like bumps--my lip gloss! I'm not sure but I do believe that's it. I was thinking about it and realized that recently I'd been kissing DS while wearing lip gloss and rubbing it off. The oil (or whatever chemical is in lip gloss) probably caused a reaction and brought on the pimple. I haven't kissed our DS with lip gloss on lately and the pimples are going away. The small dry patch/rash is still on his shoulder (but fading) but I don't think that's related to the pimples though.
