Way OT - Help me with my hair!

OK, friends. I need some help. My hair is boring. Help me decide what to do with it! I am going this afternoon to get it cut and colored, so please give me some suggestions! I am considering cutting it short, but I don't know!!

BTW - I just took this picture a few minutes ago and it is really bad. But at least you can see my hair in it!

You're hair is beautiful! How short were you thinking of?? I just got my hair cut recently to. My hair was only just past my shoulder blades and I cut it to just under my chin. It was a BIG step for me but I am soooo glad I did.

I went online & looked at hairstyle sites.

Good Luck! Can't wait to see THE FINISHED PROJECT!

dont' cut it! It's beautiful I'd kill for that hair!

Put some auburn highlights in it or cut some long bangs or something but keep it long!

I agree, go with highlights (gold-carmel colored) lowlights too (auburn is nice). Foiling colors give frame and depth...

As for cut, I wouldn't go drastic, if after a while you want to go shorter its as easy as another haircut... you can always take off more, but its hard to add to once its cut off...

Long bangs or long layers with the color enhancement will be nice...

I understand wanting change, I do it all the time, but your hair is beautiful as it is...

Don't do it!!! I have had long curly (permed) hair for the last 20 years. This spring I decided it was time for an update, something new and fresh. I cut it chin length and got rid of all the curl. My hair dresser did exactly what I wanted. And I hated it from day one. I have been growing it out ever since. I just scheduled my appointment for a perm in a few weeks. Your hair is long and healthy, leave it long and healthy. Maybe a little shaping and a highlight to give you a lift.

JMO,
Samantha

That is funny that you posted this because I right there with you! My hair is longer than it has been ever and I do like it most days, but I really am starting to get the urge to do something else with it, but I am scared to do it!!! So other then my blond touch ups I am trying to be patient-although long bangs might be in my near future

Let us know what you decide to do!

Just trim it up but don't cut it. Put some highlights in it. That would look great. I wish I had your hair.

Don't cut maybe shape different. I love your hair and would kill for it but needed a change one day too. I went shorter (shoulder length) for a while as DD was pulling it and it was taking too long to manage in the morning. Now, letting it grow out I wish I had never cut.

Highlights would be the most drastic without the cut so try that.

My hair was about your length when I decided that I needed a change too. I found a hairstyle I loved in the coupon pages of the Sunday paper LOL. I've had mine for 2 years now and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! My hair is almost white blond naturally and I have not had any highlights put in. I'll attach a picture from my oldest Son's Sr. Night at school this past May.
Be sure you check into donating the hair you have cut off to Locks of Love!

My hair has NEVER been as long as yours. I have had short hair for a while and I love it. So, if you ask me I would say go short, just because I love my short hair. Bu I think your hair is gorgeous and lovely. I agree that color and some shape would make it feel totally different, maybe cut off a few inches. Definitely post a picture when you are done.

I vote for highlights and a cut just above the shoulders and perhaps layers around the face. Or step out of the norm and get a shorter cut, maybe just below the neck. It will grow back.

I say go for it. It will grow out if you do not like it. Just avoid a blunt cut.
