My daughters adoption was finalized last month she was with us year before it was finalized. We are looking to adopt again just trying to find outwhat the rules are about how long we need to wait and what we have to do? We kept our cert. current by taking courses from foster agency and just had to have background check done to finalize since its a yr passed, Also just wondering rules and children sharing rooms.

We started the process for number two after number one turned 18 months old. Our social worker measured the square footage of our 2 bedroom home, not good news. Make sure of the state policies about more than one child if you have a smaller house. We could've stayed in the house if we had adopted another boy. As it turned out, it took 5 years and we brought home a baby girl. Moved into a larger house when she was one. Good luck. Don't wait to begin again, it may happen right away but it may take longer than you expected.

Are you adopting through foster care? In CA, two children of the opposite sex can share a room up until age 5 then one of them has to move. A child can share a room with a parent up until the age of 2.

I adopted through a private agency and I believed they had a policy about a year between adoptions. My son came home at 5-days-old. His adoption was finalized when he was 19 months and 1 week old. I turned in my second adoption application 6 weeks after his finalization and no one at my agency said a thing. Baby number 2 came home 3 months to the day that I turned in my application.
