Book "Girls Like Us"

Has anyone read this book? It's a bio of Carole King, Carly Simon and Joni Mitchell. And I hadn't realized Joni Mitchell had relinquished a daughter when she was 21. They reunited later in life.

I just thought it added another dimension to the book (and her amazing song writing) for me.

Just thought I'd mention the book, it's really good....juicy too! Man those girls really got around!

No I haven't read it but will plan on getting a copy to read as I get through some of the other books I have to read. I can't seem to dedicate time these days to the reading like I would like to do. Between work, family and getting over a cold I can't even get to the gym.

Tell me about it. We are sick too. But the other day I went out for a PEDICURE. And it was the only one I've had since E's been home. I just HAD to get out of this germ infested house. I brought the book, sat in one of those vibrating chairs and it was HEAVEN. (I highly recommend it) for the moms with babies!!!!

Oh too funny. I went just about a month ago for my first Pedi and Mani since DD was born and it was great. I took book 14 in the series by Janet Evanovich about Stephanie Plum Bond Agent. The stories are great if you need something to read off topic of adoption.

How did E react to your nails painted? DD loved it and wouldn't leave my toes or nails alone for days.

He's mesmerized by them! But I kind of knew that because our baby sitter always has painted toenails.

I have this book on hold at the library and will be picking it up today! Have been wanting to read it since I heard about it.

I thought Joni was 19 when she gave birth to her daughter, though. The song "Little Green" off the album "Blue" was written for her. It makes me cry every time I hear it!

Now I'm seeing she was 20 and the reunion was 32 years after that.

More about Joni Mitchell

this thread made me want to research this story more and you guys may be interested in the following link:

Interesting -- apparently her daughter's adoption was kept secret from her until she was an adult. Even her older brother was part of the lie. That is one mistake I will never make.

Wow..very intersting articule. Get rid of the fame part of it and her story could just be a regular thread on this forum!!

The discussions that could be started just based upon this one situation.

Lots of things come to my mind!!!!
