Did u bring a gift to the hospital for bmom?
Myself & DH have been matched & our e-mom is due in a week so we're anxiously waiting on 'the call' to go to the hospital.
Soooo, we're just wondering if we should bring a gift for our e-mom? We haven't met her yet but we've spoke to her twice on the phone so we'll be meeting her for the 1st time at the hospital. So did you did bring a gift & if so what did u bring? Thanks a mil!

Congrats on the match! From our experience, you need to be ready to "go" at a moment's notice- our little guy showed up 15 days early ; )
As for a gift, we gave the birthmom a heartshaped locket, a stuffed animal and a pretty jar filled with her favorite candies. We gave the birthdad a giftcard. Best wishes and keep us posted!

We gave her a necklace with his birth stone pendant. Also a hand written card with a stuff animal that I bought for DS. I told her to keep it safe and maybe give it to him when he's older.

Our agency said that we could not give emoms any gifts until after TPR was signed otherwise it could be seen as coersion. You might want to ask your SW to make sure a gift will be ok in your state. I know your heart is in the right place and I'd hate for you to get into trouble over something so innocent.

Definitely ask your sw... Ours advised a photo album, as we send them a lot of pictures every month, so we bought one, and she gave it to them (they didn't want to meet us).

Yep, flowers and a card here. Definately check the laws in your state. In ours, total gifts could not exceed $50.

We gave her a dozen roses and a card. We had planned to do some other gifts (locket, pictures, etc), but our son was born with a CHD that we didn't know about and was flown to another city for open heart surgery€ that same night.

We didn't have much time to plan...
So we did a flowering azalea plant at the hospital, and then gave her a Swavorski frog (that's what will be in Ty's nursery) when we saw her again. A few days later we brought them out to dinner so we could all relax and talk together, and I gave her a large photo album to put pictures we sent in. We had already added pictures we had taken at Picture People while we were there, and pictures of her and Ty in this hospital to the first few pages.

I just wanted to say good luck on you match! I will keep everyone in my thoughts!
I do not really have any advice about a gift, but I love the idea of a nice photo album that someone suggested (I might steal that one!  ). Our SW also said that some company (you could probaly goggle it) sells adoption jewlery that she likes (not sure what it looks like, but that is what she mentioned) or of course flowers! Everyone likes getting those! Good luck

We were not allowed to give any gifts until after TPR were signed but DH did bring her dinner up every afternoon as he did mine, the hospital food was horrible! On our first Christmas we gave "E" a necklace with her and Castle's birthstones in it.

We bought a beautiful floral arrangement for the bmom's hospital room. The doctor was recommending that she stroll the hallway but she had no robe and was selfconscious about that. So we ran to the mall that night and picked up a nice new bathrobe. She absolutely loved it and really appreciated that we had taken note of her need!
