We are leaving in about an hour to go to our cabin in Northern Michigan for 10 days! YAY!!!!!!!
Just waiting for DH to get home, and we are off! We go into town on the 4th and they have the most amazing fireworks! Happy 4th everyone!

We leave tomorrow morning for our friends cabin in Helen (Georgia). We're going to spend the weekend up in the Mountains. I've never been but I hear it's beautiful! We're going to take Shiloh's baby carrier and hike with our dogs all weekend. Should be fun!

We are staying home but having visitors. Most of our friends live in the city so we ARE the country! Our town also has great fireworks on the water front.

We will be around town. I hate to travel on holidays. We will go to a bbq tomorrow and stay for fire works. This will be the first year that Kelcee has seen them so that should be interesting.

I was supposed to take some students to Mt. Rushmore for fireworks, but that got nixed at the last moment
 Instead I am taking them on Friday for fireworks at the Missouri River... pretty, but not Mt. Rushmore.

First mom to the amazing Kiddo and adopted adult. 1-4-2009 Mom and I visit Kiddo despite the bad weather. He really loved the blue mittens I made him and even helped me plan my living room. Apparently Hot Wheels wallpapper is the way to go. 2-16-2009 I got a promotion, that comes with a raise. Mom and Dad are visiting and we're going to Al's for pie to celebrate. 4-27-2009 Dad surprises me with a Lady Ugly Stick (an awesome fishing rod that is pink) and a 2nd Iowa Light Artillery Battery jacket. I'm a lucky girl! 5-30-2009 Kiddo turns five. It is hard to believe he is that old already, it seems like just yesterday he was being born. I was at peace for the first time on his birthday, what a nice feeling. 6-13&14 2009 A cannon live fire in Casper WY. We got third place and I got to see Devil's Tower for the first time, it was pretty awesome. 7-4-2009 Amelia the kitten comes to live with me and Liz. Talk about jealousy, Liz will adjust though.

That stinks Belle...Mt. Rushmore is awesome so can only imagine how cool it is to see fireworks over and from it!
We are doing the bbq thing with friends and will let the kids have some safe firework fun. I miss the old days of small town celebrations though so will likely sit and tell the kids of the "good old days"... LOL!

We are going camping for the weekend. I am a little nervous as I know that our DD is so active that I will not have a chance to enjoy the typical camping festivities. Everyone have a great weekend.

I am going to my parents' beach house where they have an amazing fireworks/bonfire show every year. I was so afraid that DD would not like fireworks and she LOVES them.....(and thunder too! weird kid!).

Our best friends are coming down for the day. We're starting the morning at the local holiday parade. I'm making a picnic breakfast to eat while we hold our place and wait for the parade. Then we'll take the boys to the fire truck display in the afternoon followed by a cookout in the back yard.
We haven't decided for sure about taking the boys to the fireworks. I'm not sure if they's be afraid of the loud noise. That might have to wait for a year.

Anyone other than me get teary eyed watching the fireworks shows? lol! I don't know what it is but every year I watch and get this lump in my throat thinking of our great country and forget about the faults it has.
I wonder if our troops will get to celebrate at all? Imagine they can't have too much without giving away their locations.

We'll go to DH's aunt and uncles for a family get together during the day and then both our boys usually have 10 or 15 friends over for fireworks in our backyard with a bonfire for hotdogs to just hang out.

We're going to have lunch at the BIL and paint the nursery (better late than never, right?). That's the plans for this week end
