OT: Are you a "Child of the 80's"?

I realize some (hopefully not most) of you are probably (quite a bit) younger than me, But I thought this would be a fun thread to start.

Take this "One Hit Wonder Quiz" and tell us how you did! Cool Quiz! Trivia, Quizzes, Puzzles, Jokes, Useless Knowledge, FUN!

I got 100% (probably because I was a teen in the 80's - don't ask me about current stuff). They don't call me the Trivia Babe for no reason.

Me neither...but the whole one hit wonder thing reminds me of when I was in 8th grade, and I had a HUGE crush on this boy...So we were all at the school dance (back when it was cool to go with your friends)...and I REALLY wanted to dance with him....so my friend told him and he was going to ask me and in the end I TOTALLY chickened out.

So the next day (and every day for the next 4 years) he would sing Too Shy Shy by Kajagoogoo every time he saw me (remember that song? Ugh!!!)

Anyway, we ended up going to our Senior year Homecoming dance together...4 years later!!!

So any time I think of 80's one hit wonders I think of him.

So there is my embarrassing, angst filled junior high story...

I only got 50% correct. I knew all of the songs, just not who sang them. I don't think I did too bad though considering I was born in the 80s!
My best story is I was rainbow brite for Halloween one year and my mom made my costume and it was amazing! I wore my costume to school on Halloween and a friend of mine was rainbow brite as well and I remember feeling so proud all day thinking how much better my costume was than hers! I was too young to date/go to school dances in the 80s so that's as good as it gets for me!

aallen - rainbow bright - that's hilarious...

I only got 7 out of 10...dance and all - lol.

(Although I have to say that when my DH and I got married in 1995, they played Come on Eileen, and that song was the one most danced to - almost 14 years later, we still hear about it!)

OMG, I nearly choked on my dinner when I read this!!! Too funny. I remember that song so well...That was when the "androgynous look" was in, and men wore make-up and had long, tinted, iron-pressed hair..

I got 50% as well...kind of sad, considering I'm also a child of the 80s.

80 out of 100!! I love my 80's tunes

The funniest 80's story revolving around music for me was a birthday sleepover in the 5th grade. The mom took us all to the local video place to pick out a movie or 2. (no blockbusters then, these were little mom-n-pop set ups with a not so huge selection of movies on a wire rack!) . We were all crazy over Duran Duran and got a video collection. Later that night we're all in our pjs and sleeping bags and pop in the movie. (Kids were totally not exposed to what they are today, so we're all giggling in our little pollyanna popcorn world). Within moments the mom is utterly mortified and nearly in tears as we all went deer in headlights at the uncensored verison of a Duran Duran music video. Looking back it was like something from a movie itself, it was hysterical.

OK, I'm really old. I went to prom in the 80's and graduated in 82.

I only missed Kids in America. So, I got 90%.

I keep telling them at work that my brain is chock full of useless knowledge!

I made my husband come and help me, he knew them all. That was fun though. Then we started doing the TV sitcom one and that one was fun too.

I graduated in 86 and gave up. I loved to jump around with my big hair , but Mickey was the only one out of the first 4 I knew for sure, so I just plead that time of my life to be slighly about non retaining information. I guess If I would have been more about remembering, I would be a successful employee somewhere instead of owning a retail shop where I am at the publics mercy. lol

I was looking at my DH's old photo albums, and I found a pic of my brother in law...he had the iron pressed hair and eyeliner...I almost fell of the chair!!!
