OT Swing Set Help!

Ok so a few of our relatives are chipping in to buy E a swing set for his first bday. Can anyone recommend a good swing set company or give any advice? It is a small area (the one flat part of our property!) so we think we need the smallish ones and also since it is visible from the street it will have to be made of wood.

Any advice would be appreciated, have no idea where to look!

I don't know where you live but around our state there are several amish and they make beautiful swing sets!

I don't suppose the Amish have e-commerce?

I'm gonna look, thanks!

Walmart has a nice wooden set for $299 here, I think that is about as cheap as you will find a wooden set anywhere!

We got a wooden set from Toys R Us. It took a while to install but we love it. It was about $600 I think. Pine Ridge III Swing Set - Big Backyard - Big Backyard - Toys "R" Us
The kids love it and it is pretty sturdy!

We did the Rainbow direct thing. It was a lot ($1700) but they assembled it. We put a sandbox in the part underneath. T loves it and is on it every night. We had the same problem with level ground, and they can change which side the slide comes out from (making it 15x15 instead of 15x20)..

Good luck!!

p.s i have heard horror stories related to assemby. Parts missing, needing to buy tools to assemble. That is why we had it done...

Wow, he is getting one young! Dh and I have deicded not to buy a swing set for anotehr year or two. A neighbor has one. It has a rock wall, a ladder, a slide, and monkey bars. All four openings are on a landing about 5 feet off the gorund. Cameron has backed up and about fallen out, or fallen into my arms a dozen times with all those openings. My advice: look for one with few openings. It gets tiring to run around the swing set in circles to guard all openings...

he love the swings with the toddler "bucket" seat....I'm going to look into a basic two swing set that we can add onto as he gets older. I know he's young but i love the idea of a quick swing when we've already schlepped to the park that day or whatever...

Also taking advantage of the fact that everyone is making a big deal about his first birthday!

If you're going with a wooden set maybe call the manufacturer first to see how they treat the wood, ask for specifics. There was great concern for a long time about certain chemicals used for swing sets, decks, etc. It can't ever hurt to ask.

We have one similar to the one already posted, but there is an addition on it. Ours has 3 swings, 2 slides, baby swing, 2 chain/hoop things, bar thingy, lol and a cabin type thing. Our kiddos love it, and it is something you can add things to as they get older as we have done.

Thank you.

BTW this is all part of my grand scheme to keep our house the center of the neighborhood so our only child never feels lonely

Just nuts! He's a totally different person now, doesn't even resemble a baby to me anymore!

We got ours from Backyard Adventures. They have a website and it will tell you if they have a store in your area. It cost three times as much as my first car, but it should last forever!
