Need prayers; a co-worker's 10 y.o. son died today in a car crash
Her name is Jenny (won't say her last name) but she needs our prayers people. She has 3 kids, the 10 y.o., a 5 y.o. and a 4 y.o. Her 10 y.o. was with his dad, her ex husband and was riding in the backseat of a small car when they were rear ended by someone in a Jeep Cherokee. The Cherokee hit them so hard that the trunk of the car went into the backseat and the backseat went up to the windshield. They all had on seat belts but it took the Jaws of Life 2 hours to get them out. The 10 y.o.'s carotid artery was sliced open amid other head trauma. He was air lifted to a children's hospital where he was pronounced brain dead. Jenny and her ex decided to donate his organs so they didn't take life support off until the people to pick up the organs got there. Then they turned off the machines and he died shortly afterwards. The driver of the Cherokee left the scene of the accident and is nowhere to be found.
Please pray for her, her ex, and her other kids. Also please pray that the driver of the Cherokee is found and charged. My oldest son is 11 and I'm giving him extra hugs and kisses now...no parent should have to bury a child. Thanks and blessings, Michelle

I am so sorry to tear of this - what a tragedy. I too will be giving my 9 yr old extra hugs and kisses today.
I often have panic attacks when my older DD goes to visit her dad too - he can be a reckless driver and this is my worst fear. I am not a "prayer" per say, but will certainly have my thoughts on your friends' family today. Karyn

Every parent's worst nightmare. I'm so sorry for her. I honestly don't know how people survive something like this. Sending peace and comfort her way today.

How brave of your friend and her ex to consider organ donation in the midst of the most horrific thing that can happen in a parent's life. Other parents will now be spared a similar fate quite possibly because their children will receive life-saving organ transplants. God bless them both. Their son is now residing in Heaven with the only One who loves them more than his parents, and can only feel complete peace, love, and joy. I have two friends who have lost children...my heart aches for your friend and the rest of the family/friends. You will all be in our prayers.

I couldn't agree more. As the mom of a baby who may very well need a heart transplant at some point of his life, I was moved to hear that they donated his organs. Very moved. So sorry to hear of this and for their loss. Definitely in my prayers. ![]()

I am so sorry to hear it. I will definitely have her and her family in my prayers. It is so heartbreaking to ever hear someone who loses a family member in such a terrible way, but especially their child. It does make you stop and think how much we take our children for granted at times, even when we hug and kiss them all the time, it could all end in a second. God bless them!

Something similar happened to my co worker a few months ago. She was at a red light and when the light turned green she went through. A man who was high on marijuana went through the red light and hit her car. Her 8 year old daughter died a few hours later. It was the most difficult funeral that I have ever attended. I am praying for this family.

so sorry
My thoughts and prayers to this grieving mother.
How brave of the parents to permit organ donation. They are truly exceptional people to think of other's children at the time of their great loss. |

What a tragedy and yet they were still selfless and giving. I hate reading these kinds of things because it just makes me want to stay safe and sound in my house and never leave.
We will keep this family in our prayers that they may find some peace thru out all this.
