I just had a stray thought about those who insist that bf facilitates "bonding." Seriously, if my girls were any MORE bonded, they'd have to surgically removed from my body! Just got me to to giggling this morning!

Happy, that made me chuckle!!!

I have been lucky not to be subject to "judgments" on this really EXCEPT the one time I was sandwiched between two of my partners' wives who went on ad nauseum about bfeeding. One of them had the GALL to tell me that I really SHOULD be bfeeding DD (of course knowing she was adopted). I just smiled and said, "Yes, it would have been nice. But DD is totally thriving, luckily."

It's gotten to the point where they are going to have to have "support" groups for kids that weren't breast fed!!

One other thing that makes me chuckle is a friend of mine is a ped who did an OB/GYN rotation. I said, "you must encourage women to do natural childbirth?" And she said, "Karen, we are not cavewomen. I think the ones who don't take an epidural are crazy!" It's like if you have a caesearean (sp?) these days, you are letting your kid down. Too much pressure on women, imo!

Okay, I'm a day late to the party, but... yes, I got this when Lilly was a baby and it drove me nuts!

I had actually begun inducing lactaction with just pumping prior to a failed match. I was working full time, so it was a challenge. When that match failed, I realized that emotionally I could not handle lactating with no baby in sight, so I stopped, and chose to bottle feed when our baby came. (I know that I could have chosen to begin when we brought Lilly home, but if I personally only wanted to do it if I already had milk.)

It made me angry to get the comments and "looks" from vocal breastfeeding moms at different groups, but I figured they had just never been in my shoes and couldn't possibly understand.
