That reminds me...:)
Another post reminded me about a question that I have been meaning to ask...
What is the difference between the background checks, finger printing clearences and CPS clearences? I of course assume that CPS is child related (which I know have already come back clear obvioulsy )...but my husband and I were finger printed also. Does that include just our state or all states? I keep hearing different things about this and I knew you all could set me straight!!! ---My husband was arrested in another state (charges were dismissed because they were made up by his exwife durning a divorce-she wrote a letter stating this to the court). We of course have been completey open so far with the agency we are working with and plan to keep being so, but I wasn't even sure that it would show up...Also...has anyone ever had a problem with a dismissed arrest on a record? It was for a domestic issue, but like I stated his exwife wrote some sort of letter stating that after a verbal argument she exagerated the argument to include some sort of physical altercation (or something, my husband can not really remember-it was over 10 years ago, but he forgets what happened 10 minutes ago so this does not surprise me ). The charges were dismissed and he was able to join the military (which he would not have been able to with the arrest) and also has a Top Secert clearence (which includes an INTENSIVE background check!)...There has not been any issue since then. In your opinion should I go ahead and try to get the record and everything I can from the state in which he was arrested just to speed up the process?Just something I was reminded of ![]() p.s. we are doing domestic adoption btw ![]() Last edited by cbrink7 : 06-15-2008 at 04:39 PM. |

I am not sure in your state but I live in WA state and they now require FBI fingerprint clearance. They used to just require WA state patrol but this has change in the last 2 years according to our SW that did our homestudy.
So perhaps each state does something a little bit different. You might check with your agency or SW and see what your state requires.

It does vary widely by state. We live in MA and they don't require any fingerprint clearance for domestic adoption.
