2:45 AM...An Unbelievable Phone Call!!
Yesterday morning our phone rings at 2:45 in the morning. When you get a call at that hour you definitely suspect the worst so I was totally surprised to see that it was our DD's birthfather calling. (Since our DD was born we have sent pics and letters quite regularly but have only spoken a few times.) Anyway he was calling to tell us that he and our DD's birthmom just had another baby girl and he wanted the phone number for the adoption agency we had used with DD. I gave him the number, asked if they needed anything and said I would call tomorrow to see how everyone was.
DH and I were in shock. We had no idea they expecting again, we didn't even think they were together anymore. It looked they were planning adoption for this baby and we wondered if they would ask us to take the new baby. So that it was it for sleep yesterday,...way too much going on in our heads for sleeping. Well, at 7:30 AM our SW from DD's adoption calls and to tell us that our birthparents want us to adopt the baby so the sisters can be together!! OMG!!!! A full biological sibling to our daughter...of course, we said YES!! We are totally in shock and feeling every emotion under the sun. We were not planning to start the process for another adoption for at least another year. It was the furthest thing from our minds!! Needless to say all is a blur here...agency paperwork to update our home study, pulling out all the baby stuff packed it the attic, figuring out how to pay all the fees...AHHH!! Last night we went to see them at the hospital (only ten minutes from us) and they asked if we could bring our DD with us. Of course, we said yes. It was the first time they have seen her since her birth 18 months ago (they have not wanted visits). It was so amazing and wonderful...they were so happy to see her and of course, DD put on quite show making everyone laugh. We stayed for about an hour and will visit with DD again today. The SW will also be meeting them today, too. As for the new baby, we didn't get to see her last night. She was on another floor...she took in some meconium during birth and they were keeping an eye on her. The doctors said she was fine, just waiting on tests. Hopefully we will see her today and get all the medical info. So we are beyond excited, and nervous and scared and happy and basically freaking out!!! Life can sure change quickly!!! Any advice or tips on having little ones so close together would be totally welcomed!! Can anyone recommend a good double stroller??

Double Stroller suggestion
Wow, congratulations. May I suggest the Graco duo glider. It is one behind the other. It is a little heavy to pick up, pushes easily with two kids and all the gear. It moves and turns well.

1993 decided to start a family 1995 discovered problems 1995-1998 fertility Drs and surgeries 1999-2003 break from it all 2003-2005 thought about adoption but trying to find a way to afford it. 2006 decided to do whatever it took to create a family. Money should not decide a family! January 2006 gathering information applying for homestudy. July 2006 homestudy completed- we are officially waiting! July 06-March 09 Several situations that didn't work out.. Our baby will find us, until then...We are 4-everwaiting for our angel  It finally happened after over 2.5 years of waiting, our angel found us!!! ... Baby Girl Born March 10th! Home forever March 19th, 2009

Congrats, congrats, congrats!!!
I have three kids under 3 and double strollers just happens to be one of my specialties, lol. I highly recommend getting a side by side. Our girls love sitting next to each other and it is easier for me to check on them. We currently use the Valco Twin Runabout and I LOVE it!!!!!!! It's big, but pushes like an absolute dream even over really rough terrain, but also turns on a dime to make getting through the mall a snap. We are looking for another (smaller) double since we have a few trips scheduled for this summer and I just want something small and compact for the airport, rental cars, etc. We have decided to get either the Baby Planet Unity Twin or the Maclaren Twin Techno (I am looking for used ones on ebay so it's whichever one I can get a better deal on). Also Valco, now makes another twin stroller (that's a bit cheaper) that I really didn't look into since I really want more of an umbrella type this time around.
