Baby Acne?

Anyone else have any experience with this? Our pediatrician says the rash on our son's face and chest is baby acne and there isn't much that can be done except to wait it out. If anyone has heard anything else or tried anything else, please share!
TIA!

We've been down that road! It did go away on it's own eventually and DD has beautiful skin and a great complexion. At one point the ance seemed to be getting progressively worse when it should have started getting better and our Ped gave us a prescription for a cream to put on very lightly - can't remember the name and I'm sure we don't have the tube any longer but it worked marvelously. Even still, most babies I've known who had baby acne - it just goes away on its own. Good luck!

My doc said to put a little bit of cornstarch on it and keep it as dry as possible, nearly impossible with milky, drooly babies.

My daughter had that and then I switched her shampoo, body wash, and lotion and it went away. I think her skin was just too sensitive. You might want to try a hypoallergenic brand like Aveeno (which we love) and use nonscented baby wipes. That made the difference for us in a matter of days.

Thanks for the info, everyone. It is nice to hear that other people's babies have dealt with this too! It sure did come up fast-he had perfect skin two days ago and now he is covered in red bumps. Luckily, it doesn't seem to be bothering him.

Devin had it too. His ped suggested we just wash his face twice a day with plain water and to pat, not rub. And during feeding, instead of rubbing the spilled milk off his face to pat, not rub. After 2 weeks, it went away. We continue to follow that routine and have had no problem since.

Good luck!

We were first told that our lil princess' was baby acne. We learned its actually excema <<sp! She was given a prescription...but just switching to Aveeno for bath and using "all for babys" when washing her clothes has almost completely cleared up the most part! Good Luck!

TJ had it and our ped told us to put hydrocortozone on it at bedtime. It truly was gone within a couple of days.

Update on Ben's skin issue: At the pediatrician's recommendation, I stopped using the lavendar bedtime bath and lotion and bathed him with regular baby bath instead. The rash is almost completely gone today! It also helps that we've been able to stay in the cool air conditioning today-the heat really made it worse.
Thanks again for everyone's suggestions.

Re:Causes and Cure

The acne is caused by poor diet, using topical retinoic acid, a form of vitamin A might help you get rid of acne. And finally, if hormonal acne is your problem, there is no better way to get rid of acne than to wait for time to play out its course.Hormonal balances or imbalances might cause acne related problems for the time being. But it is rarely, if ever, permanent.

Are you in search of some safe and effective cures for acne? Although I can’t promise perfect results, I can drop you some sound advice to better your situation. It can be rather insightful to surf the web. The Internet is a wonderful source for information. That treatment or cure for acne may be right under your nose. They make a number of acne fighting skin care regimes these days that can virtually suit anyone’s face. If your situation is beyond over the counter cures for acne, it may be prudent to consult a dermatologist for answers. He or she can get you on the correct path to a clearer complexion.
