18 month old and attachment

Hi folks
My wife and I have had our new baby (17 months) for 1 month now and have seen some positive changes as he was in a FF for 14 months ( he was 3 months in NICU as he was a preemy - very small)

He is hitting 100% on nearly all benchmarks and he is still a bit on the short and light side but he seems to be eating like a horse

My question is that he is now crying when we put him down for his nap and also at night when we put him down

He only cries now for about a minute then stops - then goes to sleep

We noticed that he was teething and that was the reason he was waking so much so we have remedied that and he sleep for 10/11 hrs

He calls us Daddy and Mommy and when I left to go to work yesterday he started to cry

All good i think

One of the things he is still doing and I hope he grows out of this is that he is still friendly with strangers so I am hoping that he will grow out of this as the attachment becomes stronger since it really only has been one month

Thks

Sounds good, Towzer. Sounds like you're making some good strides and he's in the beginning stages to attach.

Should he continue to have problems in napping or sleeping right away, I'm a strong believer in laying down with him for awhile until he nods off the sleep. That holding and comforting before nap/sleep time is important, I think.

Sincerely,

Linny
