just sent the application :)
Hi everyone,
You all are so supportive on here, so I just wanted to share...my husband and I just sent off our application The process has started and we could not be more excited! It took us a few months to be ready. We lost twin boys in Jan. due to a premature birth. It was devastating-there just is not other word for it. Before we started the process we wanted to make sure that we were 100% ready, and had grieved our sweet boys. We will miss them always, and not a minute goes by that I don't think of them, but we finally feel that we are ready to have another child. I have this feeling that Luke and Brandt are watching over us and are going to help send us the brother or sister that we are meant to love. I just wanted to share. I know it is such a long process, but the hope the this has given my husband and me is amazing. If anyone can fill me in on what to expect the next few months, that would be great. We are doing domestic for our first adoption, and we are open to any race. I know things are different everywhere, but we are in Virginia if that helps. I am already worried about the homestudy ! Hugs! Cat |

Hello,
I am in Virginia as well. We went with an agency in Northern VA, MD, and DC area and live in Southeastern VA. Homestudy, I won't say it was a breeze but it was so much less worrisome than we thought it would be. Once approved, we had a pretty short wait, 4 months. The wait is different for every situation though. If you don't mind my asking, which agency did you choose and where are you located? You can PM if you want. Good luck. Kat |

I'm so sorry for your loss. And I'm so glad to see that you're starting this process. It's a pretty incredible ride, but I'm told it's sooo worth it in the end.
