I'm hoping DD's birthmom is o.k.
Last year on Mother's Day was the last time we saw her. We didn't know it then, but she had started to make some really bad choices. Right after our last meeting her phone # changed and we haven't had any way of contacting her. I've tried calling other family members of hers, but they haven't seen or heard from her either. I always worry about her and what kind of people she is around. She is the kind of person that can be manipulated easily and I really worry about her safety.
I don't tell anyone else in my life about this because I don't want DD to hear from others about the choices her birthmom has made and I don't want others to judge her since they don't know her, so I thank you all for listening. Beth

Beth - I'm sorry - I hope she reaches out to someone soon. Maybe you could call her family again in a few weeks. She may have check in for Mother's day...

Beth I am sorry that you haven't had contact in that long. I hope that sooner rather than later that she contacts someone for help and guidance.

I'm was thinking today how hard it would be to be in a closed adoption. M called me again and we had a nice talk about our Mother's Days. To have a closed adoption would be really hard, but even harder I think is an open adoption that then gets closed or cut off in this manner. My heart goes out to you. I hope that after a period of time she can pull herself up and get back on track. If you periodically check in with her family then I'm sure they would mention that when they have connact with her...that might be a boost she needs to. hang in there, and I hope you can get your open arrangement back on track soon.

Beth-
I will say a prayer for her also. I agree with the PP that suggested trying her family again in a couple weeks. I have a younger brother in a similar situation. I have not seen or heard from him since Christmas (and months before that). No one in my family has been able to reach him. And TODAY I got a text message from him wishing me a Happy Mother's Day! I've been thinking of Troy's bmom today as well. I wonder if she got the Mother's Day card I sent her and how she felt about it. We've never had contact from her, but I think about her often (especially today).
