I had been collecting baby things since before we began ttc, so I had lots of basics like neutral sleepers and onesies. Some friends gave us their crib and changing table somewhere along the way.
I decided that I wanted to decorate the room before we were matched so that, like a previous poster, it wasn't associated with any particular child. I chose an adorable nursery theme in muted primary colors that could be accented to make it more "boy" or "girl." We did this prior to our profile being seen. Once we were being shown, I bought more "general" things like diapers and blankets because it helped me feel like I was doing something. As soon as we learned that Lilly had been born a girl, we hit Babies R Us and bought lots of pink clothes. Our family and friends gave us showers after TPR. We'd had a failed match/scam previously and didn't want to do a shower prematurely. Congratulations and best of luck in your journey. This is a great place for support!
