Rumble, rumble!

Any other midwesterners very rudely awakened by an earthquake this morning?

We are about 100 miles west, and we sure did! And subsequent rumbles, too!

My husband didn't believe me when I told him it was an earthquake - he has never felt one before! (He grew up with hurricanes instead!)

Yup, we're in St. Louis, so we felt it pretty good. Rattled us right out of bed this morning--thought it was a tornado at first but then realized the sirens weren't wailing. Just felt a pretty good aftershock sitting here in my office about 30 mins ago!

We felt it too, but it didn't wake me up .. my little man did, ha! I had just gotten up to feed him and sat down only to wonder why my chair vibrated. I didn't think anything about it until I heard there was an earthquake this morning at that same time!

We are about 20 miles from epicenter, so we definitely felt it. It was my first experience, so we pulled the kids out of bed and stood in doorways. It lasted about 45 seconds here.

Amazing how short 45 seconds is yet how long it felt while happening...

I am in MI, and supposedly it hit here also. I didn't feel a thing. Oh yeah, it was at 5 something this morning! I wouldn't hear a bomb if it went off then!

We're in Central Indiana and it woke me up too. It even woke up my 16 year old nephew-and that usually takes a lot. The dogs weren't too happy either. It felt like being right next to the el train in Chicago or something. But, no damage-not even a knocked over dish. Haven't felt any after shocks, but I have noticed the ceiling fans and light fixtures swaying, so I know they are happening.

No major damage in St. Louis--some concrete chunks falling from a highway overpass and apparently people reporting some cracked foundations but other than that, nothing to report.

Well, we have damage... We found a 12 inch crack in one wall. It goes from ceiling to the top of the sliding glass door. We have to have someone come out and inspect...

I'm in Indianapolis and I slept through it. It didn't even wake my dog up but he's 14. I did feel an aftershock around 10:30 though. That was cool!!!
