TG- that was pretty good...you had me fooled!
Also an 80s baby and an 80s fan...I'm particular to all of the "hair" bands. I love the monster ballads! |

Like OHMYGOSH yaknow......I can't totally beleive you people were like totally born in the 80's. Like NO way DUDE - that's like totally awesome for you but bumming me out cuz I'm feeling like totally old.
** 80's Valley Girl Suz - who WAS cute and perky THEN - will now be returning to respectable, mature Mom of Four***

Hey all!
I'd love to join your running group. I started running during the wait to be matched and became addicted. I took a break when DD was born but I'm back in the game and doing my first 10K (God willing!) in May. The weather is still bad here, so I'm stuck running on an indoor track, but I'm up to 50 minutes. ( I could only run 2 times around the track in the beginning) I second that 80's music always helps the time go by quickly~ especially Eye of the Tiger!! Beth |

So I thought I'd share today's playlist for the elliptical portion of my workout (hee hee)
Cruel Summer- Bananarama OPP- Naughty by Nature (nothing like an early 90's classic!) Take on Me- A-ha Another Nail in My Heart-Squeeze Turn to You-the Go-Go's There ya go, that's 20 min! (See, now aside from me surfing random a bit to get these songs, maybe a min worth or so) If I can dance badly in a club to it, I can certainly work out to it ![]()

Today I listened to:
"Walking on Sunshine" Katrina and the Waves" "Dancing with Myself" Billy Idol "We got the Beat" Go-Go's "She's Sexy and 17" Stray Cats "Reflex" Duran Duran and "Stand " REM (although I'm pretty sure that was a 90's song) It was about 25 minutes of music and very fast so I moved pretty fast. All but "stand" was on my "Modern Rock the Cool 80's" CD ![]()

If you can, strategically place very motivating music (Top Gun theme song is one of my favorites) toward the end of you work out or run. I say this, but I am not smart enough to program my MP3 player like this.
So, I just hope that I get the motivating music I need at the right time. And NO I did NOT run today But kuddos to those of you who did! I will join you on Monday (I hope)!

I want to join this group (I need to join this group!!) I've never run a 5K before, but my sister has been wanting me to join her in doing one this spring. We're already signed up to do one in April and I was following a similar "couch to 5K" program with runs on the treadmill...and then stopped. I was under the weather today, but hopefully this weekend, I'll be starting the training again.

I didn't run (or elyptical or gym or whatever I usually do) because I got rear ended and my back's a little jacked up - but seriously, I'm fine, my car's fine, I'm just taking it easy. I'm planning to do some light elyptical tomorrow and then do boot camp on Sunday (but talk to the instructor first about why I'll probably cheat a little).
Keep up the good work everyone! AND IF YOU DIDN'T GET OUT THERE TODAY, SHAME ON YOU! DROP AND GIVE ME 20! FRONT AND CENTER, DOUBLE TIME! YOU GOTTA MAKE IT UP TO ME AND YOUR TEAMMATES!! RUN! RUN! RUUUUUUN! ![]()

Welcome, Beth and Leenie!!!! I am so happy we have such a great group and of course our great cheerleading crew (Tmom, I love your Billy Blanks impression! cracking me up....so sorry about your accident...yuck!).
Oceans, your cookie thing is making me laugh....food is the best source of motivation. I had a friend in law school...on the day of the Boston Marathon, he told me he'd run ahead of me with a donut on a string....heehee! |

Thanks for the welcome! Any type of baked good is an excellent motivator for me.

I'm going to officially start today! But first, if I'm going to do this I'm going to do this right so I'm heading out the door to shop for an mp3 player! My birthday is tomorrow and keeping past bdays in mind I'm 99% sure DH has yet to buy me anything so I'll just take care of it myself! Hopefully, I'll be sweating to the 80s with everyone else by this evening
