The $450 Easter Basket

Does this happen to anyone else? I went to Target to buy an easter basket and a few things to put inside for DD.

Well, of course, I then realize that DH has been wanting a new digital camera. And that DD needs a few spring clothes and shoes. (And yes, mama needed a new shirt and pair of pants!). And then of course the basket, and goodies to put inside.

So I ended up spending $450!! Ack!! I feel like the easter basket should be lined with gold! I must avoid Target, Costco and all those "supersaver" stores where inevitably I spend way too much because there are way too many aisles!

I am guilty. I even had to throw out the Easter grass because I bought so much there wasn't room for it.

Oh shoot - I forgot Easter grass - lol...

Target is my downfall - I made DH go today to get the Easter candy (and an ipod shuffle for me because it was on a killer sale - see? I have problems even when I'm not there!!!).

We actually went back to basics with the kids Easter Basket this year- just a few pieces of candy, bubbles and sidewalk chalk because we've gotten out of control lately with this stuff...

I spent $283.00 at Target yesterday. Like you, I went for specific items: A finial for a lamp, diapers, deodorant, a cd for my daughter's easter basket. I ended up buying swim diapers, t-shirts & shorts for "Brandon" for next summer, the movie "Enchanted", several board books, ..maybe the clerk kept ringing up the same items over and over. Honestly, I don't know where the money went.

Love, good thing I didn't see that shuffle while I was there!

Kat, maybe I should check the receipt....something had to get rung in twice!! ack! i was unpacking the stuff and I kept thinking....this isn't all worth $450!!

Scatter, I also threw out the easter grass...you don't realize that it "expands" out of the package!!

Happy Easter, everyone!

Yes, you are not alone! We went out for easter candy--already had the big treats-- and ended up spending $786! My microwave blew up and my vaccum so we ended up replacing both of them and getting the boys and dh all new shirts for Easter, mom a new pair of pants and Castle some new shoes which she didn't need! I must avoid ALL stores because I spend too much!

Ourdream, phew!! You made me feel better...haha!

Those dang girls' shoes....DD is already a "shoes horse" -- she has so many pairs, and yet I always find a pair that she "needs"...haha!

The worst is when you go to the store to return 1 item that you impulsively bought and come out with 10 new impulse buys!

See... This is why I am baking my significant other Cinnamon Rolls for his Easter morning surprise. He's not allowed to have them often because he will eat all 15 in one day. (His rule not mine!)

He really only wants the bowl of cream cheese frosting anyway The roll is just to slow him down!

BTW: Personally, I am hoping for peanut butter eggs - The real ones, not homemade LOL

Happy Easter everyone!

Aw man, and I was just gonna psych myself up to go to Target right now! Although I probably should really just stay home...I wanted a new CD, and a new book (I usually go to Borders but that's a whole new WORLD of high spending for me!) but I know I'll stumble across some cute Easter/spring socks/slippers, snacks, another CD, I'm in the market for a new camera (for my visit two weeks from today!) so I could easily be persuaded to buy that....I know I won't leave with much money left in my pocket! Ack, what's a girl to do?

OMG, Oceans, cinnamon rolls with frosting....I would eat the whole pan (and of course have to lick the frosting bowl!).

Tmom, I was shocked at how "reasonable" the digital cameras are now and the quality.....hey, just saying....you need to get some great shots in a couple of weeks!!

C, I remember when DD was small, I LIVED at Target. I love all their baby stuff!

Happy Easter, guys! Happy first easter to Devin too!

Oh. Gawd. Yes...I can so relate! They just built a new Super Target .07 miles down the road from me. And an Old Navy right next to it I'm in major trouble, huh??

My doc talked me into changing my prescriptions to Target because they are so cheap - $4 or less for most generics.

Some savings. I end up spending a whole bunch of cash there.

She also wants me to take my blood pressure regularly. She said take my pressure when I drop of the refill, then take it again when I pick it up. I told I couldn't do that, my son plays the PS3 games, because electronics is next to the pharmacy and my blood pressure is so up by the time I try to drag him out of there, it wouldn't be so good to report.

I wanted to avoid the chocolate (the girl spins in circles without sugar) and an expensive basket. So I decided to get her a bike instead. $35 at Toys R Us and we are done.

I am SOOOO happy that Target is out of the way for me! I went last week with my best friend, she wanted to look for a lamp base, I figured I'd pick up toothpaste. I walked out spending $60, on new foundation and mascara, toothpaste, hand soap, and a new armband for my iPod. And I almost bought 4 movies and sunglasses but decided against it (rare RARE occurence!)

Sam: Old Navy is bad. Really bad. It has evil powers that suck you in and make you buy. I never spend less than $60 there, even if I'm only shopping sale!

And Barnes and Noble isn't safe either. DH and I can easily spend $200 in there without blinking an eye!

TG: think of the camera as investing in memories of DD

Anyone else need rationale for shopping? I've got tons!
